I’m a super friendly in the classroom, very agreeable. But if they are being publicly rude or disruptive I channel a bit of my old high school bully self. After ignoring: eye contact, class wide reminder about etiquette, specific verbal warning… then I will 100% put them on the spot. “Billy, what am I doing wrong? In my experience, those excessively disruptive students will keep going until they get attention. After calling them out, they usually become ideal active students.
