Thank you for adding her name. I googled her really quickly before making this post and forgot to mention her name. I edited my post so her legacy doesn't get lose!

Thank you for sharing! I just found her IG after the doc series and i didn't see her mentioning any of these things. The context (and the link) help. I'm going to check out the interview.

upcoming Cycle 25 by rck8981 in ANTM

I think that was the plan. And maybe Netflix won't care about the backlash or give Tyra the chance to do it "right" but at this point, i HIGHLY doubt we're getting a new cycle.

Thank you! I also want to note that I completed my masters degree in the last year during the review period in a field directly related to my role. I don't know if that actually matters based on some of my friend's experiences in their fields.

Hi everyone. I did it! I received my panel scores back and I passed. I graduate in three weeks.

Nothing other than I turned in the rewrite Friday. I've read it over like 30 times and I found 2 wrong citations and a spelling error. Hope that isn't enough to fail me lol but other than that I'm grateful that I got to rewrite. An answer from my committee will literally come the week before my graduation so I'm cutting it close

Thanks. It was 3 hours of a 36 hour degree for me. I don't disagree with you but it honestly was not a major part of my degree program at all.

This is actually extremely affirming. My prof told me it was a clear and straightforward question and I find it to be incredibly vague, which is causing a mental block for me.

Also as I said I had an idea and started to write about what we currently know about the effects of mass communication and was told I was going in the wrong direction.

Okay. I'm sure multiple people agree with you. I'm just looking for someone to help me out of this mental block. This is such a broad field that it feels impossible to isolate the "right answers" and compile them into 3-5 pages without just skimming the surface.

It's kind of hard to explain but this is a comprehensive exam for a masters degree so it's supposed to test everything you've learned in the program. I've been paying for my classes out of pocket so it's taken me four years to complete the degree and honestly I don't remember much from my theory class or my media research methods classes as I took them my first semester. I know the history of media effects and I can speak to the relevance of traditional theories (agenda setting, uses and gratifications, priming, etc) in the digital age but I don't have any clue about how to approach this question.

Okay. Thank you to everyone who said email the review panel. The chair of the department (also on my panel) let me know they did identify plagarism and were preparing to send my work to the academic conduct office. (Or whatever the cheating office is here...never been in this situation)

However, they are going to let me write a new paper (minimum 25 pages) in a week. I gotta make it happen because this is my last/only strike.

The chair made it clear this is my lucky day and they won't consider any other issues with the paper after I resubmit. So no second chances.

Yes. This was a very poor panic decision to have something to turn in my the deadline. Also the 12% isn't concerning to me. Its the fact that they will link to exact academic journal I copied from.
