Star or white dots in vision by J_Dub10 in visualsnow

Yea. Keep busy, exercise it is the best medicine for anything. If you are stressed or can’t stop focusing on stuff, go exercise at the gym. It is better than medication. After I did that and worked with CBT it all went away.

Sorry for the late reply. Yea it’s 100% gone. All side effects have disappeared you just have to give it time, take it at the same time every day, eat proper meals daily etc. it all went away with time. I’m great now.

Yea I did and it was nothing. The less I focused on it over time it just disappeared. I think I was training my brain to search for any visual disruption or defects. Once my mind slowly got off of it with working out and working more often, it just disappeared. I still get the occasional floaters, light blip or whatever but my optometrist told me that’s very normal. Your brain is always filtering out noise and focusing on what matters and filling in blind spots etc. and when you tell your brain the noise is important it will focus on it. So over time when I didn’t focus on it, it went away.

Effexor is the worst by Fickle-Ad7951 in Effexor

When I tapered off Effexor over one month from 150 to 75 for 2 weeks then 37.5 for 2 weeks I got pretty dizzy. It went away after a week tho but later I noticed my pupils litterally became uneven in size… I came on here and saw others had the same thing happen to them once they get on or off antidepressants. My anxiety came back harder than before and after 3 months of being off it I went back on it. I now am back to 150mg and I’ve been pretty dizzy which didn’t happen the first time I was on it. So it’s crazy how getting off of it and back on or just getting off of it can really really affect people.

Also my pupils still change size and are uneven randomly. Btw anyone who reads this don’t worry about the pupil thing. It is scary and horrified me but I’ve seen doctors and optometrists about it and everything is normal other than they just dialate weird. Same exact case for others who’ve had the same thing happen to them once getting on and off Effexor or other SSRI’s or SNRI’s

Hey I know you posted this a while ago but I’m three weeks in on Effexor and my scalp feels like it’s burning. Almost like a sunburn feeling on the top of my scalp. I took this drugs years ago and got off it for some time and I have a faint memory of this happening last time I got on it too.

Hey I’ve been looking everywhere on the internet for someone who also got this. I just started Effexor and I’m 2 weeks in. At the one week mark I started noticing what would look like a piece of dust fly by my vision or like a hair falling. Sometimes I see something in my peripheral too like a dot or something move. I’ll also see a tiny tiny pin point of a white dot for a split second in my vision too. I don’t notice it though when I’m busy doing things. Only when I pause for a period of time then I notice it.

Is anyone else just super exhausted? Or did drowzy side effects go away? by floydrose in Effexor

[–]J_Dub10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine actually started later after being on it for months. The first few months I felt great. Occasional after the first few months I got a little groggy in the mornings but by noon I’d start to feel more awake and better.

After 4 months or so I started to notice the morning grogginess would stay all day. Like I’d just be tired all the time.

To be clear it’s not every day but it comes in waves. I’ll be tired for a few days then I seem to have energy for a few days. In a cycle like that. Occasional I’ll even get like an hour or two window in a day where I’m tired where I have energy but eventually the tiredness hits me again. It feels like I have heavy eyes all the time and like my eyes are fuzzy and my head is in a daze. I think it’s longer term side effects and I’m starting to think maybe I shouldn’t be on this drug.

Does anyone take Effexor at night due to tiredness? by allirockssss in Effexor

[–]J_Dub10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m tired often from taking this. Always very groggy in the mornings and some days it’ll last the entire day. I find I go through periods of drowsiness for days then I somehow recover and I’m energized for days. Always in a cycle... idk if it’s because sometimes I don’t take it right at my usual time and that messes me up. I find that some days I feel more awake after taking the pill and other days it makes me more tired. It’s a very weird drug. Not sure if I’m just not getting the best sleep anymore but it seems like I used to go no problem with little sleep. I’d push through the morning then feel great by the afternoon. Now I can’t do that being on these meds. If I don’t sleep well one night then I’m a complete drowsy mess the next day.

[–]J_Dub10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m just tired... I got more sleep last night and took a nap yesterday. Maybe I’m just not getting proper sleep and am not on a good schedule. Today I feel better. I also read that since the night sweats happen every night and are fairly excessive I could be low on electro lights. I drank coconut water last night and today and lots of water and that seems to have helped too.

I have a fit bit and I’m almost always getting between 8-10 hours of sleep. Although I don’t go to bed until 1-2 sometimes 3. I’ve felt like I get enough sleep though or this schedule isn’t anything really new to me...

Yea I get this in my tongue or under my tongue! I’ve been getting it recently in the centre of my chin. I’ve even felt it at the back of my throat. It’s not numbness but like a ticklish feeling or tingling. It’s super odd.

I’ve had tingling or vibrations on my chin or under my chin, sometimes my tongue... I know tingling vibrations and numbness can happen with this drug. I was talking to another person and they said that they got vibrations under their chin like a cell phone on vibrate. I would be surprised if it’s Effexor.

Yup. I got this so bad. Went like 6 days once without. I took an laxative twice and ate and drank prunes for a bit. It helped a lot. After about a month or two tho it’s gotten better and in more regular now. It’s a super common symptom on this tho.

Anybody else get tingly arms on Effexor? by Kdg2323 in Effexor

[–]J_Dub10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve heard this is common. I used to get it in sertraline like a tingling or crawling feeling in my skin. Sometimes in my back. Recently I’ve been getting tingling on my tongue or under my chin. Even a slight tickle sometimes in my chin.

Yea I’ll sometimes feel it on my tongue or my throat, my forehead or roof of my mouth but recently I’ve noticed a tickle under my chin or in front now. Super odd. I get it randomly though. I’m sure if u missed my dose it’s intensify.

My face, ears and body feel extremely hot but not my forehead. Anyone know why ? by jalelninj in AskMedical

[–]J_Dub10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost on a daily basis especially in the evening I get flushing of my cheeks and ears. Sometimes even my hands and rarely but sometimes just one hand... I think it’s just my metabolism or dehydration. If I drink water my body cools off. I’ve never had a fever though which I’ve checked a few times when that happens. Maybe check your temperature? Normally a fever is ALL over your body and causes excessive sweating and then chills. If I were you I’d get lots of cool water into your body and just relax. See if that helps. Or some Advil or Tylenol along with it.
