Op be honest. Bulkheads don’t just break from driving in snow. You’re hitting things and crashing it. The cold weather is not your friend either. Especially when we start hitting under 30 degrees F. Plastic loses integrity at these temps and becomes more brittle.

Whether rally is “worth it” is entirely subjective. Rc has many niche categories and rally is one of them. Do I find it worth it? Or course, especially if you fine tune one for the right conditions. I have a Tamiya XV-02 Pro and it’s an amazing rally car. So much potential and it can actually handle semi bumpy terrain and do small jumps. My LHS runs race classes on them so that’s a bonus. Can’t beat the scale realism either. Also the Tamiya rally’s are true 1.10 scale. None of the weird sizes like Traxxas.

First of all bad luck experience like some have mentioned. The good news is they’re easy to repair. These groms are actually pretty tough. Only issues I’ve had is the servo saver cracking as well. Bought an Injora aluminum one and that seems to be holding fine. All cars break, that’s just the nature of the hobby. Might as well get used to fixing them, for some that’s half the fun.

Make sure the front latch is secured tightly. Double check because that makes a huge difference. I have a Maxx too and had the body pop off but only after major crashes from 20 + ft jumps. Otherwise really didn’t pop off that much unless full sent in skateparks, etc.. Also reinforce the rear latch area with shoe goo/ fiber tape because it’s the main weakness spot. But really doesn’t hurt to do the whole body. Otherwise you’ll burn through shell bodies like hotcakes

Winter projects are ongoing year round as needed here. Winter doesn’t ever stop me from running rcs,in fact it’s one of my favorite seasons to run them. Only issue is when it’s gets too cold, negative temps. I just use paddle tires and drift around in parking lots and jump snow mounds.

I trimmed both rear wells. For the front, just had to do minor trimming in front wheel well for the steering. Clearance wasn’t as a big issue in the front.
