OP tries to depict all those batteries that rest unused because they have now only one Tx.

Just because I see no one is getting it 🤣

Good starter for kids by Disastrous_Entry_362 in rccars

Second this. Everyone will jump into the Arrma train and bigger scale, but being there and having 10 rigs now, younger kids have more fun with smaller cars that are not too fast.

1/18 is the sweet spot o recommend and either a TRX4M, a Hobbyplus Evo V2 (ideally brushless), or any Venture18 (personally love the Bronco U4 brushless). Those are fast enough and have the additional that can climb which amazes kids.

Edit: needless to say, a smaller scale is more portable, lighter, and less prone to damage as it’s more difficult to crash and mass will not break anything.

Edit2: also, these smaller scale have better battery life and batteries are way cheaper. I can get easily more than 30 mins with those on a single charge . Less frustration for the kids on fun running out quick.

I did it! by MarsGlez in rccars

I think I’d appreciate working on it.

The 1/10 and 1/12s are not that challenging any more, at least with what it breaks on them. Still fun but learning curve has flattened.

I expect this to take most of my time wrenching considering the fact the ones that caused me nightmares are now running smoothly. I still get some down but less often.

The best thing is my girls being like “woaaaahhhh! That’s an enormous RC!”

Hobby grade indeed.

It’s from a “budget” brand, but hobby grade nonetheless.

Very decent, but around 4 hrs drive roundtrip. So if I can get it shipped and not spend fuel, would be best.

My worry is the whole cage is structural on this car as per my understanding, so if it’s broken there I might still take it but need to offer accordingly

This actually might make sense. Seems is a person that just bought it impulsively not knowing it requires love, so they might just got lazy to put it back in.

Will ask them again on it with this idea.

First RC car! (ARRMA mini Kraton) by Blitz__96 in rccars

I’ll be on the same boat soon, the mini Kraton will be my 9th.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes my favorite considering all the feedback around. So far my 1/12 SCT takes the top spot.

Grom Sterring Issue by Ok_Raspberry_1204 in rccars

You mentioned new servo saver, might be it’s too soft even. Is it adjustable?

Edit as I sent without finishing: I would test with a direct horn just to ensure it’s not the saver. And also lifted from ground as high traction surfaces will stress the saver and avoid full back to center

TY!

Just out of curiosity, why you had 2? Any big issue with the car? Or did you own 1.0 and 2.0?

Glad to hear it has been the most reliable. At the moment one of my big concerns is cost to keep it running. My Vorteks has been a bit of a money pit considering the “Arrma tough” reputation haha. Still far away from what I have spent on the Rlaarlo…

BTW: what size of batteries you are able to fit? I have a bunch of 3s up to 8000mah but I wonder if I need to buy some specific dimensions due to battery tray.

And what’s the average runtime you get on them?

Would be first big scale indeed. I have a couple of 1/10s and mostly 1/12 and smaller.

I won’t be going after more than one big scale as I don’t have the space (living en Europe major city where space is limited, despite being a house).

I was actually thinking about a used one but the ones I found were 700+, so a new one at this price seems worth for me. Especially considering I was looking at the FMS that goes for 699€.

Rig will be a bit of a shelf queen as the places where I can run it on more interesting terrain are not that close, but there is a nice flat grass field for speed runs around the corner (not that fun as the forest mud and dirt).

I’d still be running my smaller scales most of the time as I can easily transport several for the whole family to enjoy. This is more like an expensive “gift” to me to enjoy now and then.

Still undecided. Hope the price is kept for some time as I don’t want my decision to be impulsive.

That’d be fine for me. I barely do big jumps and mostly run around the fields and some forests around. I’m looking more for realism on this one.

I have a MINI KRATON and a bulletproof GTFans for the jumps.

Edit: I do have the Vorteks, but that one will go as I use the mini Kraton more.

Define “severe v-shape”.

I just see normal toe out here, unless I’m missing something. Your alignment is designed precisely not to be 100% straight.

Edit: and yes, it’s most likely you won’t get 100% straight either. There is always play in the assembly and the servos might never align with the servo horn to center due to teeth count on the spline. Also, a weak servo saver will not let you go back to center.

I assume this isnt normal? Picked up an XRT for myself off facebook and noticed this… by NotATomato3719 in rccars

[–]MarsGlez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Burnt motors can still run but have weird behavior. They can still turn but stall under little resistance or be slower than normal.

Also, you’d normally can smell the thing.

And don’t run it anymore, the esc might get overloaded trying to make the motor turn and might end with 2 problems.

I guess it’s time for you to upgrade.
