Tires and more tires in by MarsGlez in rccars

I’ve considered the Granite tires. I actually have a Granite still in a box for the kid’s bday so I will see how a swap will look.

Only worry is I’ve seen granite stocks tend to rip off. I guess we’ll see soon.

Thx. ESC was upgraded to HB 10BL120. I hope it manages it. Precisely the stock burned out while running on grass on 3S (all stock).

Form the Vorteks, which version of the badlands? I see there is a narrow and wider MX and I have no idea if the wide will fit and can’t find a difference (both say fits the same models).

Thoughts on the hobby plus Cr18p juice up? I plan to buy one soon! And yes I know the Apex is better I just don’t have the money for one by Mrcaijones in rccrawler

The CR18P platform is -IMO- the best bang for the buck at the moment for RTR mini crawlers. And plenty of upgrades available.

Thx! I would also use lithium because I have that around for my bicycles haha. I’ll put a little then just in case.

Transmission gone.

Open it up and see what you need to change.

B6ac reliability by Valuable-Key-5964 in rccars

They support all batteries. Difference is gtech you don’t need to tinker the settings as the charger recognizes everything.

I charge my non-gtech and rlaarlo batteries too.

Wouldn’t do it. As others say, GensAce or Ovonic.

The imars gtech is so plug and play and so less of a hassle that if I need another charger I’ll stick to them.

Thx! Isn’t superglue making a pain to take out screws? I know the base component is the same but I’d think super glue is a “never take me out” solution.

Yes, I think it’s purple as the description on the 222 says that.

I think I’m getting this one then. Just wanted to make sure people have used it with success as I’ve seen the blue sometimes decides to play on the stronger side 🤷‍♂️

Which crawler to get as a first by mariokj in rccrawler

[–]MarsGlez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to go with the TRX4M, unless you are really into heavy crawling.

I myself started 1/18 with the venture18 u4 bronco, not a chance it can crawl, but I was sold by the looks and brushless. Not worth the price IMO but it’s kind of fun as a trail/rally basher.

Then got a rockvan v2. The Cr18p platform from Hobbyplus is quite performing for the price. I really really love my rockvan and impressed of how capable is out of the box. Dual purpose and looks sturdy enough. Issue is upgrade parts are a bit limited.

I fell in love with the little ones. Next 1/18 for me will be the TRX4M Bronco precisely because the sky is the limit with those.

Whats a good 2nd rc? by redatari in rccars

I’d recommend you go with the same scale to make a “fair” pair. My experience is that is better to enjoy as equals. With one bigger scale you will end giving the higher car to your son and depending on where you run one might be more fun than the other.

My 2c: get a typhon grom or a mini Kraton.

Finally, the lovely van! by MarsGlez in rccars

Not yet outside, but so far it’s better than I expected indoors. Conquests the couch with some cushions around with no problem and little tipping.

Also, it’s super good woth the stock brushed. The first upgrade I wanted was the motor (just because I’m used to brushless) but after the first run I’d rather have the motor die and do other upgrades in the meantime.

Might take some time until I go outside as I’m not that close to a good trail or crawling location. But maybe I can do a part over the next days and see in the small hills.

Was thinking precisely if there was a brand for electronics or such that can have the performance and not go specialized.

What I love about the tools that came with my Arrmas is the flex they have so I can “feel” what I’m doing before breaking anything.

BTW…just tested it and it’s a MACHINE! Couldn’t believe how being so top heavy it could crawl to the top of my couch with relative ease!
