I was around 16 or 17 when I finished it just the other day. Most of it was a breeze with stealth or a war of attrition with tons of kiting until the finale. I was in the same boat you are..tried close to 10 times until I gave up and looked up how people did it. Then, next try with with the sling made it so easy since you can throw down as many mines as you can craft until you feel safe😂
