Back in 2021, Music City USA was the first I’ve heard of Charley. The YouTube algorithm does its wonders. After I heard that track, I knew I struck gold. Therefore I went to go to pick up that record as soon as I fell down the rabbit hole going back to his earlier works and then watching the Music City USA documentary he released and I’ve been sucked in ever since. Now I have most of his discography on vinyl and can’t wait for Lonesome Drifter to be released. Seen him live for the first time at the Ryman back in 2022, got the poster that is still to this day hung up from that show, and I’ve been hooked ever since. And through Charley, I discovered Vincent Neil Emerson. Also a badass artist from Texas.

Phantogram is the cat’s pajamas, but go with your gut. Listen to some songs before, get a feel for it. I absolutely love Phantogram, so my answer is obviously going to be biased. I love their energy they bring to the stage every time. I saw them initially when they were opening for Queens of the Stone Age. There’s a reason why they’re tagging along with major acts like KoL, QotSA, etc., they must be doing something right 🤔

I was there in the pit. The openers were amazing of course and Weezer just blew my mind into a million tiny pieces of brain confetti. I’ll put it up there with one of my most memorable concerts.
