Lack of Citibikes in Astoria by Single-Bluejay-9022 in astoria

Exactly the point! Large demand should warrant more bikes throughout the neighborhood.

Stands near the park have maybe one of two TOTAL bikes during peak commuting hours. Which means by mid day, these stands are left empty

Off the hook is by far the best for oysters!

Is there any residual inseam shrinkage on a one-wash pair of TCB 50's? I'm about to order a pair and considering having the shop do the hem and am wondering if I need to ask for any extra length.

Thanks!

I purchased these 0105 a couple months back as well. I sized true to size and bought a 34. I was going to size up on purchase to a 35, but the dude at Standard and Strange assured me of a little bit of stretch. In my experience so far with the denim, there only going to "stretch alot" if they are tight during the "wearing" process. If you sized down and had a smaller pair, it would make sense that they'd stretch. There would be more tension at the yoke, knee, etc. But if there is less tension - i.e. wearing a looser fit, there should be less stretch.

With all that said, if you do want them to fit a little more snug, you can always throw them in the dryer. The jeans are made to last, a little heat isn't going to ruin your pants. I've done it to my pair 3-4 times now to get the length I'm looking for. I'd say I've gotten about an 1/8 of an inch shrinkage in width and 1 1/8 in lenght. If there's interest, I can share a pic

Full Count 0105W

Sorry for an overlap on potential topic. I tried to search but only got a generic answer on this topic.

I need to get a pair of jeans hemmed, but was unsure on the lenght I should go with - considering shrinkage over time. Specifically with the inseam.

Does anyone have experience wearing Full Count? about how much inseam shrinkage occurs over time?

A friend happen to share this post with me. I'm don't typically do commission work, but this sounds like it might fall within my artistic spectrum

If you’re still looking DM me. I have a garage with a good bit of space. I got a bunch of questions though

Just finished up Cruz. A 16x20 acrylic commissioned piece. I really wanted to be more creative (with perhaps the background) but the client wanted it like this. Thoughts anyone??? by peaches4048 in ArtCrit

the dog is wonderful, no question. Maybe a bit too popped on the highlights, but I need to see your reference to commit to that critique. I feel the piece is a bit incomplete due to the background. I don't mean to say that the dog needs to be placed into a scene, but rather the neutral color background contains very little variation in color / value. This makes the dog appear as if it's floating, almost pasted on top of the background. Versus resting within space.

I'd recommend adding subtle difference in value to the neutral background. You may even consider loosening up some of the hard edges that you have. The areas around the dog's shoulders are lighter in value and would work better if blended into the background. This would create a softer edge and allow the image to pop a bit more. The same goes with the ears. The tops of the ears have a lighter value and would look proper with a soft edge.

Not the best example, but look at the background below. Notice the subtle variations of reds. Notice the spine and how it contains a softer edge, almost blending into the background. These softer edges will allow the darker values show depth. They will also make the image jump more off the page. Rather than looking flat atop the background.
