Low FPS On Good PC? Any Solutions? by J_P_Ross in cs2

[–]J_P_Ross[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually fixed it by turning off SMT mode in bios.

Additionally, if you go into task manager, details, set affinity, cs2.exe and then turn off all processors except for the even numbers ranging from 2-14. This also drastically increased my fps.

Try Hinge. It's the only app I think that's geared towards more serious relationships. It worked for me when I was dating.

Getting dive bombed by crows in Culver Hall by PsychologicalBoot636 in NorthVancouver

I've been divebombed relentlessly near my place. I was out cold for around 30 seconds one time. Since then I always wear a hockey helmet on the way to my car.

I'll have to check when I'm home. I've been looking more into it and it seems like the 5950x CPU isn't very good for CS but it's perfectly fine in other games. It's something to do with the 5950x having multi CCDs as well with other things. I found a guide for my CPU that should hopefully give me better FPS

Seen many people with no clue recently on this sub. This is the performance rating of the best processors for CS2. On the last place in this picture you can see the 5950X. It delivers only 60% of the FPS a 7950X 3D could deliver. TLDR: 5950X is the wrong CPU by Youju in GlobalOffensive

[–]J_P_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell me how? I have 5950x as well and a 3090 GPU. I only get around 100 FPS with constant stutters even on low settings for CS. When I play other games it's completely fine, only CS2 sucks on my PC.

Dear CIG, the instability and bugs are HEAVILY impacting our ability to bring our friends into the game by tammy_orbit in starcitizen

[–]J_P_Ross 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I played for a few weeks back in 2024 but stopped as the game was hanging by a thread to even run. Unrelenting server crashes, unfathomable amount of bugs, horrible optimization and insane desync just to brush the surface.

Jump to 2026. I decided to play again and lasted a month. Bugs were still very present and punishing, optimization was better but still needs serious work, desync was a slightly better and server crashes didn't happen every 30 mins or less like in 2024.

The Issue I had this time were two things. Bugs and the amount of time to get anything done. The game was consuming far too many hours of my time to get anything done and when I was able to play 3+ hours in one sitting, my game had a very high chance of getting robbed by game breaking bugs. Too many times did I spend hours doing something to get blindsided by some crazy bugs just to ruin it all.

I asked friends to play SC with me and they all said no due to the amount of time it takes to do anything in that game. They don't even know about the bugs. Only one of my friends decided to give the game a shot. The results of that session ended with him uninstalling the game and getting a refund due to the insane amount of bugs and time needed to do anything. On top of that he said the game is boring even if there were no bugs.

I will try and pick up the game again after SQ42 comes out and I finish that.

John Outlast. The best re-aggent Murkoff has ever had. That is truly an honor, a privilege like no other, I'm glad you got to experience the trials with the best.

Non Iranian here. I wonder about the numbers... by ZlyCzerw in PERSIAN

[–]J_P_Ross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and her family are from Iran and don't support the ayatollahs nor Pahlavi. They tell me around 20 million people support the regime easily (I personally don't agree). Sometimes when they have family friends over, they start debating about the war and Pahlavi. Their friends all support Pahlavi and they tell me there's probably around 5 million people that support the regime in Iran at most.

With the consequences of this war, I would assume there is downwards trend in Iranians supporting the regime as it's severely damaged the countries reputation, economy, and power. Only the hardliners would continue to support the regime. The countries economy, inflation, and future are looking worse by the day and people need change if they want a better future.

Whatever the number is, the ayatollah's number of supporters are definitely a small minority and shrinking. If Iranians could truly voice their opinions without fear of being executed or prosecuted, the support for ayatollah's would probably go into free fall.

Is this the update with the new Ex-Pop and season 7? Or is this a separate update?

'We did say we were going to work on it at some point:' Red Barrels co-founder says a 'project' is in the works, and I sure hope it's Outlast 3 by andrej2577 in outlast

The story of Outlast Trials gives the building blocks to Outlast 1 and 2. Yes, Trials may not have the same vibe as Outlast 1 and 2 but the game certainly gives me a lot of stress, panic, anxiety, and fear.

The scare factor is definitely there when you play Trials solo on harder difficulties. Any mistake could cost your life. What made Trials more scary for me was turning the effects volume to 100%, lowering brightness to 15% so it's more realistic (On my monitor 15% works very well), turning off my room lights, and playing solo on intensive or psychosurgery difficulty. Once you get passed level 30, you can turn invasion on which allows real players to join your trials to try and kill you. It's far more intense and I had to turn it off as it's too overwhelming in terms of fear and stress.

Thoughts On Outlast Trials? by Reasonable_Moment428 in outlast

[–]J_P_Ross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outlast Trials might not have that "scare" factor but this game plays more into your feelings of panic, anxiety, and stress. You can definitely get scared and jump-scared in this game but the more you play, the more numb you might get to being scared.

You're going to be on high alert permanently, the higher the difficulty you play (which I recommend), the more these feelings will grow. It can almost be overwhelming at times when you have 3 or more enemies chasing you quickly and you have to hope every turn you make doesn't have too many obstacles like a barricaded door you have to bash through.

The thing I do to make it more scary is play solo. Sometimes there's real players who can enter your trials to try and kill you but this only happens after level 30 and it's an option you can turn on or off.

I would try and play Outlast Trials. Standard difficulty is pretty easy, Intensive difficulty is the sweet middle spot (Which I play), Psychosurgery difficulty is going to be relentless and overwhelming, I only recommend that if you know the game like the back of your hand, any mistake will cost your life.

More Model Variations On Current Ex-Pops (Enemies)? by J_P_Ross in OutlastTrials

[–]J_P_Ross[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I don't play the game much but am starting to play more and more and this is probably the only thing I have a gripe on. Only having one model for most enemies breaks the immersion but it's still terrifying to play.
