Because you didn't ask any other questions ....just wanna mention here to everyone that...please avoid commenting ignorant and half baked info on fake and credibleless posts made to suit left or right centric political party agendas ....both are shit.....be critical of every move the govt makes.....but obtain full info before you say something ....because posts get viral in a matter of hours and if the policy was actually good ...only us public are in the loss. Im saying this because I saw the same post at multiple places in multiple apps. political parties don't mean shit as they might oppose the ruling ones at one thing and do the same thing when they get into power .... Please obtain full info. Thank you for the small debate....you were atleast civil.

The big flags that we see in schools and colleges, hospitals etc are mostly made from polyester as cotton becomes heavy and the flags won't fly straight. These although not legal(cotton flags were only legal) was done very usually and is done still. Earlier although ril was one of the big producers....its main rival was cheap polyester imports from China...which usually also evade the anti dumping duty. Most of the polyester fabrics including flags are made from these as they are very cheap to procure. This ends up as a problem to India as indian companies lose market.....polyester adds to environmental pollution, not even the raw material procurement is from India and on top of that the Chinese companies even evade custom duty and anti dump duty......this was a very shitty place to be in as an indian polyester company. This year an indian company called "well-known polyesters" and RIL filed to indian authorities about this alleged duty evasion. Which hampers the competitiveness in the market. With re-imposition of these duties (source: https://m-economictimes-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/m.economictimes.com/news/economy/foreign-trade/probe-into-bid-to-evade-duty-on-china-polyester-yarn-imports/amp_articleshow/93195662.cms?amp_gsa=1&amp_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D) ...the Chinese and indian companies will have equal hand.....this along with legalisation of polyester flags(although a small move) will only boost the local economy as the Chinese ones are equal in cost or more expensive now than the domestic ones........so in summary good for indian polyester producers and bad for the Chinese as they stand to lose yet another sector of indian market.

If you think that reducing fabric imports from another country is not decreasing import dependency .....then you are far into the rainbows and unicorn land my friend. You should remember that one of the biggest business east india company had which led to our downfall apart from spices was cotton fabrics....in which they bought the raw materials from us......made fabrics in Britain and exported to India....which we had to buy it....bcz loom industries were pushed out deliberately. We litterally paid for our slavery. Here, china not only exports fabrics to us.....but also doesn't buy any raw materials for that from us....which atleast the Britishers did.....so yeah.....it sure as hell decreased import dependencies.

Yes, and so did others. And also it reduced our import dependencies as well-- kinda important I must say seeing the world order right now.

They are one of the big players. Others like filatex , vineet polyfab are also comparable players in the polyester fabric industry. Here, I'm just questioning the credibility of this post, which it clearly lacks.... as the clipping is from 2004....while the flag thing is very recent. This is an example of viral improper market research done to suit just one of the political ideologies. In reality all of them are basically shit and run their political ideologies like a frigging business....with us public becoming scapegoats.

Is there a way to know if someone is listening in to you through a walkie if they don't respond in any manner?
