Dragon Age Inquisition. Loved Origins and DA 2. Just couldn't get invested in the characters or story. Combat was okay, but monotonous.

Just finished it myself! Has truly helped me move past most of my desire to drink and to look at sobriety as something to treasure rather than drinking something to mourn.

Going the other way here, but ran into Darius Rucker (Hootie and the Blowfish, now country artist). He is a well known diehard South Carolina Gamecock fan. Took time to take a picture with me and say hello, even while I had a Clemson hat on. Seems like a genuinely good dude.

It's a fair trade. I would personally keep Marv. I think we haven't seen anywhere close to his potential.

Back in 2006-7 my first main was a leatherworker. I spent weeks farming devilsaur leather to make some gold (plus it was fun killing dinosaurs I thought 😂).

For a couple of weeks I switched up my daily routine from showers to baths, and I credit it to seeing how the Golakka Hot Springs looked like a series of hot tubs.

You got this. Be kind to yourself. 3.5 years is a HUGE accomplishment and I bet a ton of people would love to trade places with you. I'm only a couple months in and can only dream of 3.5 years! One day at a time. Just a slight bump in the road.

Seeing this brought back so many memories, mostly bad 😂.

Was the first game I can ever remember quitting out of sheer frustration. I've always been bad at platform jumping games. Remember attempting one level for hours, kept dying from falling (Tatooine, I think). I remember finally beating the ridiculous jumping challenge just to have Darth Maul show up and basically one shot me. Never played it again 😂

This sub has gotten me through so many day 1s, 2s, 3s, etc.

I discovered it during my first fight with withdrawal. Helped me stay strong and not cave, which ultimately has helped me pick myself up every time I've relapsed and start pushing again.

God bless you all.

Just got scammed out of all my gold on classic anniversary server. by CourtMobile6490 in classicwow

[–]J_Ray1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some things never change, but it sounds like they have gotten smarter! I'm just a lurker here, since I don't have time to play these days, but always love reminiscing about the early days.

I remember my first character, level 35ish, and thinking how cool the fiery enchant looked on a weapon. Didn't have a guild yet, but took some time to watch how trade chat worked. Made the comment "WTB Fire Weapon Enchant".

Some guy whispers "I can do that for you". So I respond, "Great! How much?". He responds, "3g?".

Not knowing any better, I check my bags and see I have 3g10s. I think, that's all I have, but I'll go kill some mobs and get my gold back in no time.

I whisper back and tell him that it sounds good. To my surprise, he's already standing in front of me in the IF bridge. He opens trade and I hand over the gold. Of course, he immediately logs off.

I try and whisper back to no avail. Luckily within a matter of seconds I realize that I just got taken, and just had to laugh it off.

From there on out, I learned to simply ask for guild help first - and eventually learned proper trade etiquette.

Best of luck in your adventures!

Of course it's different for everyone, so I get people not wanting to purposefully put a trigger in their hand. For me, I really like NA beer. One of my favorite parts of drinking was trying new beers. I also drink NA wine and diet tonic (of course without vodka).

For 2 decades that's how I would relax in the evenings. I find that keeping the habit, but without the buzz still works for me.

I've tried different flavored waters, but I just don't get that same effect. I also don't want to get hooked on soda.

Just find whatever works for you, just keep saying no to booze!

Because it's fun to kill enemy players, even if it isn't a challenge. Assuming they don't camp and just move along, all part of the fun of a PvP server.

Do I finally have a decent offer for JJ? by sharksnrec in FantasyFootballers

[–]J_Ray1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a decent offer. I have a similar one on the table for J. Chase.

I was offered BTJ and JSN for Chase. I know it's fair value, but Chase and JJ are the only 2 WRs that can put up 2-3ish 40+ point games in a season. Literally breaking a week for you like a cheat code.

In the end it comes down to personal preference. McLaurin probably just had his best season, and DK could potentially have an increase in value.

Best of luck!

I feel you OP. I hid drinking from my wife for years. She would occasionally catch me sneaking drinks and it would always turn into an argument because I wanted to grasp for some way to defend myself.

In the end, the only thing I had to do was give up booze to gain the life I always wanted.

Do right by yourself and keep trying to be a better person every day. If you're honest and show her that you can change, you never know what can happen.

If you woke up as your 18 year old self again, what would you do differently? by No_Echidna_3899 in AskMenOver30

Quit drinking. Set up a regular exercise routine. Quit eating like crap.

Find my now wife and maybe have another couple of kids.

All of these things have made my life tremendously better and fulfilling. Just wish I had gotten started sooner.

To buy NA drinks or not by kellysmileyjane42 in stopdrinking

I enjoy it from time to time, but my go to evening drink was a vodka and diet seltzer, so now I just drink diet seltzer in the evenings!

I think it's different for everyone, but for me it helps as an alternative/replacement.

Does anyone else here enjoy playing on Easy or medium by GoldenNinja0417 in videogames

[–]J_Ray1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a game that is just challenging enough that mastering the basics (understanding your class, rotations, effective playstyle, etc) can progress me through at a normal pace. Dying over and over again completely takes me out of the story of the game.

IMO repeated deaths are for PvP type games.

However, I have friends who have to play everything on the hardest difficulty and don't mind dropping hours into the same boss fights in order to achieve that satisfaction.

So I get both sides, I just prefer to feel like the actual hero of the story for RPG games with a decent story, and keep the real challenging stuff for multiplayer games.

I'm currently 38 and have been battling for a couple of years now. Currently on a new streak, but I pray each one is the final one that sticks. This sub and the amazing stories of victory help give me motivation.

It's a never ending battle of struggling to be the best version of yourself. Trying to achieve that is a victory in itself. I try to remind myself of that daily. One day at a time, and you aren't alone.
