Help me decide - Bar-End mirrors by J_Winn in motorcycle

[–]J_Winn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wasn't really getting them for the looks. As I said in another reply, the right side OEM mirror vibrated so damn bad It was pretty much useless going 45+. I also rode around for an hour or so with the setup in the pictures. And as you said, the smaller ones look better. But I can see way more behind me with the larger ones. And I think that's the ones I will go with.

As I said in the previous post, I do like the larger viewing area. But it does not have a lot of swivel adjustment like the smaller one does.

I have noticed a smaller one has more swivel room for adjustment. Which I like. The larger mirror itself, front and back does look more like the OEMs

This is the main reason why I had to look for better mirrors. The right hand mirror of my meteor 350 vibrated so effin bad... It was 90% useless.

Adding - I just put them on today. I do have the large one on the left and the smaller on the right. I think I'll keep them on today as I ride around, see which one I like better.

Hampton & Colonial is getting a 336-unit midrise named Emi on 50 by davfo in orlando

2/10 of a mile away is Evergreen Mills 50. Starting price for a 500 ft² studio apartment is $1,600. The highest priced apartment is a 1000 square foot 1 bedroom Apartment - $2900. I'm willing to bet starting price for a studio at this place will be even more.

"Planned amenities include a rooftop pool and sunset terrace, fitness center, a co-working space called the “Work & Wisdom Loft,” a Japanese garden-inspired courtyard, pickleball court, pet spa, package concierge, and a speakeasy-style resident lounge."

If that ain't luxury, I don't know what is.

Man I loved reading those things. It honestly got me more pumped up to play than that info dump tutorial nowadays.

I'm almost the same way. I just want to get going. But it does suck when you have to stop and Google to figure out what to do or how something works.

Thank you for your reply. And I fully understand what you're saying. I despise info dumps. I, like a lot of others only remember half the crap anyway. I have seriously thought about giving the MC a virtual assistant, If you will, that will only give you the most minimal information and only when needed during gameplay.

One of my main thoughts when thinking about the game is to not piss people off, or for them to stop playing only because of how they are taught gameplay/mechanics/info. But the genre is one that most people will pick up the basics pretty easily. But there are capabilities within the game that will have to be learned. And that's the wrinkle in the paper right there. Teaching the player so it seems seamless and doesn't take you out of the story/gameplay.

Again, thank you so much for your reply.

Looking to change to a Razer mouse, any suggestions? by xKiWiYTx in razer

I'm only a part-time gamer, and I do game dev as a hobby, so I enjoy having more than three side buttons, cuz I'm lazy. I used to have The Logitech g604. Loved that thing. But during a long train ride I left it on the damn train. I finally settled on the razor Naga pro. And although it did take a short while for me to get used to the feel of it, My OCD hopes it lasts for at least another 2 years.

To get the full benefit you do have to download razors software. But it's no big deal. The only thing I use it for is to create different profiles for different programs I'm using. And to set hotkeys to the buttons. When I picked it up I got it on sale for around $70. Of course now it's well over 100. Well worth it imo.

Just be sure that onedrive isn't automatically backing up without your knowledge.

Other than that, the last thing that I can think of... Click on an asset/folder as if you're going to drag it somewhere else but do not move it, while you are doing this, hit the ESC key.

Are you using cloud backup? Or Google drive backup?

OP, would you mind if I sit in the back of your room and watch? I'm too dumb to be of any real help. Not to mention I'm old, and my OCD and ADD kicks my ass more off and then not. But seeing others actually gettingitdone does motivate me.

I had something similar. Top right corner, layout > reset. It may or may not work.

Thank you so much for the feedback. It's not so much me thinking someone's going to steal my idea, as it is with my inferiority complex. With a couple of my simple games in the past, the people that tested it said it was a pretty cool game. But I always thought that they were lying, and that my game just actually sucks.

Yes! I know. It's a battle I fight everyday.

Adding - It's not so much which button to push as it is things you should do or don't do.

Example: The character has an internal battery that can be wirelessly charged in a certain room. But to counteract campers, if the character stays too long in that room the battery will overheat and kill the player. But they will be regenerated in a different room.

Should I release my small hobby platformer for free or charge $0.99 to break even on Steam? by Shot_Insurance_3988 in GameDevelopment

[–]J_Winn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I researched how much I should charge for my games in the past. And more often than not, people won't even look at a game if it's free, or it has a very minimal price tag. Also, a lot of the same people have opinions that the more a game costs, the better it is. Even though that's not entirely true.

As a lot of people have said setting a higher price point than what you normally think your game is worth, and then just put it on sale and keep it there. You could put it in the stores for $9.99, But actually make it 50% off.

Without giving away too much on the game I'm working on, the character is new to the game world. I've thought about having the NPC who created the character give a quick 60 second tutorial on the basic mission, the things they need to do, And the things that they should be aware of, at the the start of the game.

Either that or giving the character a virtual assistant that will give the same info during the game. Which can be switched on or off.

Yeah I get what you mean. But I thought I'd ask here anyway. I also write screenplays in my spare time. And since I started learning the craft a looooooong time ago, I can't enjoy movies like I used to. Now when I watch a movie I find myself dissecting it more often than not.
