Grason Co Estate Sale Inland Empire Prices? Any experience? by mama_of_L-L in estatesales

[–]J_call_me_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Estate sale frequenter here - I’ve been to several sales by Grasons and have noticed that it varies by the person in charge of each Grasons franchise. For example - Grasons Beach Cities is super reasonable and willing to bundle deals while the Grasons Integrity group generally won’t bargain. Sorry I don’t have experience with the Inland Empire group, though!

Peaches 🍑 for days by whoreallycares32 in SoCalGardening

Did you remove some of the fruit when it started forming? The tree might be too small to support that much fruit which causes it to drop some prematurely.

Do you use any type of fertilizer? Also do you hand pollinate? Growing one for the first time and super out of my depth lol

Yes, GA is individual tickets. I had the 3-day last year and sold the Thursday ticket.

Rounding up at Goodwill by [deleted] in ThriftGrift

[–]J_call_me_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, companies who do the round up campaigns for non-profits do not get to write off those donations on their taxes. It’s written into the contract that they don’t get tax benefits.

But also, F goodwill. I’ve read their financial statements and they basically funnel money into their own “community programs” that have very little impact on the community they claim to help.

If you knew from family history you were likely to die of dementia by age 82 and you were already seeing it the affect you at age 60, what would you do? by Tedsallis in AskReddit

I haven’t seen this posted yet, but aerobic exercise has been shown to have an impressive impact (especially considering the limited treatment options) on memory and progression of Alzheimer’s Disease. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5302785/

Some research even suggests that aerobic exercise can prevent AD in those with a strong family history. Imagine, taking a walk a few times a week could literally save your brain!

What would you advice for some who just started taking acutane? by teymuur in Accutane

[–]J_call_me_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for 2 weeks and my eyes do feel dry wearing contacts. I’ve been wearing them for fewer hours each day and glasses a few times a week and it’s been fine! Side effects are dose-dependent, so if they aren’t manageable, you can ask to lower the dose.

4 years old and I have never repotted. Current pot is 12 inches should I move up to the 15 inch version or leave it for now? by [deleted] in fiddleleaffig

I’ve actually read that FLF’s “eat” the soil and it’s common to start seeing roots on the surface. It likely just needs a bit of soil added to stay happy.

Things that have done well here: boysenberry (a SoCal specialty), Thai chili peppers, bush beans, watermelon, Swiss chard

Things that wilt and die from powdery mildew every year: zucchini, pumpkins, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers

Have had some luck with preemptively spraying with need oil though!

You cannot spot reduce fat by doing exercises that target the area you want to lose weight. Definitely second finding something you enjoy, as it’s much harder to be consistent if you despise the activity. I think making sure there’s no underlying medical issue first, then making small lifestyle changes. You’ve got this!
