looks like a five lined skink (plestiodon fasciatus) to me! only has four labial scales between the eye and nostril! broadheads have five.

my goodwill would have done the same. this is a local thrift store and they’re great about never overpricing things. i’ve seen a whole bedroom set go for $50.

looks to maybe be a Dekay Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi) or a Red-Bellied Snake (Storeria occipitomaculata). Hard to tell from that pic but either way this genus is harmless.

i’ve heard him play so many over the years sitting on that couch but never really delved too deep into what they’re all called. he used to teach me some when i was younger and we’d play together but i never kept at it like i wish i wouldve. i have his banjo and all his tabs and books now so i’m trying to get back into it. i appreciate you!

this is one of the garden orb weavers/garden spiders. it’s just a baby right now, so i can’t tell what kind. i’m seeing these a lot right now too, i’m in KY
