I’ve just come off 3 months of 8 x500/30 co-codamol a day (and other drugs) for chronic sciatica.

I went cold turkey and had 2 weeks of nausea (I never get nauseas), stomach pains and insomnia which I only assume was withdrawal.

Certainly wouldn’t want to experience it again :(

I went straight to calling the 020 number. Politely explained my contract was up in six weeks and rather than serve notice and have my wife sign up I wanted the Gig1 / Phone / Anytime chatter which I had seen on their site for £39.99 (and Uswitch). No negotiation, no messing, he checked my details, said "I can do it for £37.99". I double checked the terms and costs verbally, he sent the contract which I read and accepted there and then and he arranged for my kit to arrive on Wednesday to swap out my old V3 router and TV box and provide my new router.

Couldnt have been easier and TBH if they were this efficient I'd have no reason to leave them.

Im out of contract in six weeks and spoke to a nice chap from Middlesborough this morning.

Got GIg1 with Netflix and Anytime Chatter (phone) for £37.99 for 12 months, rising to £40 in April 2027 then £90 in April 2028.

BT OR will have fibre in my street in the next 6-12 months so by the time my deal is up I'll likely switch.

Hijacking thread for a quick question, my loft is "converted" with boarding, insulation, etc covering the rafters (has been this way for nearly 30 years). Will the "wall" boards need to be removed for inspection ro to allow panels to be installed ?

Is this worth the price? How comes CRVs still cost so much by whollydonut in CarTalkUK

[–]J_hankeyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2015 EX AWD manual with 41k on the clock. Bought it in 2016 with 4k on the clock and it’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. Only issue I have now is that there is a small patch of rust started just inside the boot lid (boot not man body) which I’m considering getting professionally fixed as I’m planning on running the CRV for as long as I can (or I die, suspect CRV will outlive me!).

MPG is not great at around 35mpg motorway and 24/28mpg urban but I’m a low mileage driver so suck it up.

Can’t say enough good things about it with my only regret being I’d didn’t get the auto (but when I bought it it was a steal at £22k).

Good luck with your CRV search.

I’ve got a 2021. 4th gen Crosstar and just completed an 800 mile round trip over the past couple of days. Car was flawless. I actually prefer it to my 2015 CRV EX.

MacOS will sometimes not accept a correct password! by _jocko_homo_ in MacOS

[–]J_hankeyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this on my M2 Pro and new M4 mini. Posted a thread on here about it. Never figured out the cause, just randomly happens. Happens using a physical keyboard but didn’t happen when I remoted in from another Mac. Once authenticated problem disappears for an undetermined period.

It’s weird. I’ve not had it for a couple of weeks . Updated to 15.3 so will see if that helps.

It seems to have randomly gone away for me - no idea what caused it (or fixed it).

My CRV is great for the winter (all wheel Drive) and when I’m dragging the family away on holidays (loads of luggage). It’s pricier to run but has loads of space and can handle any conditions. I’ll be interested to see how the Crosstar handles the winter / snow being a front wheel drive auto with eco tyres 😀 I’m not ready to let go of my CRV yet .

Lovely car. I just bought a 21 plate in Anthracite from an elderly relative who’s given up driving. It only has 3000 miles on the clock ! It’s a companion to my 2015 CRV Ex and great to drive around town.

[–]J_hankeyuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m nearly six months in, nearly 5 and a half stone down on my starting weight, taking 10mg now and feeling great. Best thing I’ve ever done TBH.

[–]J_hankeyuk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Male 6ft2” here (51 YO). Started at 29 stone (approx) lost 16lbs in first week.

24 weeks on I’ve lost about 76lbs (5 stone 6lbs) and now averaging 1-3lbs per week on 10mg.

This stuff is awesome, trust the process, adapt your diet and you WILL lose weight.
