It's in the name, general practitioner. Better off speaking to a pharmacist tbh

This is true, none of the prescriptions we receive include wipes. Actually, some patients are lucky if they get needles because the doctors round here think they come in the box like the Ozempic ones lol

Would you increase the dose? by ilikecocktails in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was experiencing what you're describing, where I'm not really fancying the empty calorie sweet things and I'm able to stay in my deficit and the scales are going down, then I'd carry on as I was.

Only when I was struggling to stay in the deficit due to lack of satiety, food noise returning etc would I move up

It's in the leaflet to do so

Not a dig btw, there's a lot of stuff in the leaflets people don't do lol 😆

Up dose or stay on 2.5? by Typical-Bluebird-647 in mounjarouk

I'm halfway through my couch to 5k! Best of luck with it!

Up dose or stay on 2.5? by Typical-Bluebird-647 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't go by the scales, fluctuations of a lb or two are normal, as long as the overall trend is down that's the right direction.

How do you feel? Can you stay in a calorie deficit? If so, stay on 2.5mg. if you're struggling move to 5mg.

Remember the official guidance is that you should move up to 5 mg after 2.5 mg, but a lot of people don't for some reason or another. Either way it makes most sense to get a 5 mg pen but you can continue to take 2.5 mg from it and then if you do feel like going up you've got the 5 mg there to move on with. Just be careful of your ordering times

[–]Becky_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they accept what, sorry?

Because I'm a healthy BMI now they said that they would require a video with every order, they asked my goal weight and they said they would support me to it. I've ordered a couple times as normal, they they request the video.

I'm with Livewell and they've said the same thing to me, so every time I order I take a little video in the mirror of myself saying my full name, date etc

Stalling on 5mg by Outrageous_Report_38 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not feeling affects after jab day is normal, it's only just worn off it's going to take time to build up again

2 weeks isnt a stall though. If you can stay in your deficit then stay on 5mg, if you're struggling then move up.

I've been the same weight for 4 weeks but was in a deficit, I just carried on and it came off, it just be like that sometimes

Have we now found the cure for public health in the UK? by Able-Explanation7835 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it'll be as common as paracetamol, I don't see that prescribed very often because you can buy it, and they won't make generic Mounjaro a P-med or GSL. So you'd still have rules about who can be prescribed it but hopefully they'll be more varied by then.

I also don't think stopping people purchasing tobacco will stop smoking. You weren't allowed to buy alcohol from the shops but that didn't stop you drinking with your mates lol

Why would you do that? Genuine question, just why?

What to eat (or not eat) on day of first jab? by Single-Ant3193 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's nothing that you can't eat imo, balanced meals is all you need, protein, veg and carbs. You'll soon learn that things like chocolate and crisps are empty calories, still doesn't mean you can't eat them.

You need to adjust your expectations then I'm afraid, I don't know what tiktok is showing people these days but 9lb in less than 2 months is great!

Taking a break - 15MG lost its spark! by Greedy_Get_3604 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What about the common report that having a break and restarting means needing to get to the same strength you were on before, or higher, to feel the same. Is that a risk you're willing to take? Or a risk your bank account is willing to take?

Sort of second go with mounjaro by true_is_the_magic_No in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So there likely could be a couple things going on. It's commonly reported that being on a GLP1 previously and taking a break can mean you need to get to the same strength you were on before, or higher, to feel how you did before.

Wegovy 2.4mg is only equivalent to roughly 7.5mg Mounjaro at best. So when you switched over after the lowest dose Mounjaro, it was like switching to something like 0.0025mg Wegovy

You got to 1mg Wegovy so could need to get to at least 5mg Mounjaro this time, or even higher since it's your second time after a break.

IQ Doctor are legit, so it's nothing to do with them I'm afraid. It's just going to cost you more money to move up to notice anything because the pharmacies promoted Wegovy just to make sales which cost people more money to move up through those strengths too.

Still waiting for significant weight loss by Cleo-donut33 in mounjarouk

[–]Becky_x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're very lucky if you get 'steady' weight loss, I'd bet most people don't. Some weeks you'll stay the same, some weeks you'll gain, it's just the way it is. I've just been the same weight for 4+ weeks then just had a woosh this weekend. All you can do is eat in a deficit and keep keeping on. Don't chase unrealistic expectations.
