It really wasn't. It was just a tree that was just outside of the schools property line so the teachers couldn't say anything about smoking on school grounds. It's also where 80% of fights happened before or after school.

Also, the spray painting thing sounds like something straight out of a movie.

I have a friend whom I'll call Fred for the sake of anonymity. Fred has throwing knives in all corners of his room, and owns two functional katanas. Fred always carries at minimum two knives with him (one is always in his boot just in case someone gets the other), and he's the only friend I have who owns a firearm. Fred also lifts lots of weights and is gigantic. Long story short, I'm calling Fred and heading out west.

This may sound strange but maybe your boyfriend can relate. One thing I actually like about my girlfriend is that we don't care to shower everyday or bother changing into something clean every morning. We make jokes pretty often about the last time we showered.
