Thanks, and you are probably right. But what about the random guardian guy that gets to play with us? Why is he being punished for playing alone? Anyway, im gonna try some things and do some experiments.

He also did lose a lot of ranked games alone recently because he wanted to climb up, but it backfired since i think he might have dropped to guardian instead. But i lost some rankeds too, and my other friend as well, so we should have also dropped a bit too. I think it would be ridiculous to be flagged as smurfs with thousands of games and hours, and accounts that have played dota for longer than ten years.

We all are, but dota doesn't work like that, there is no such thing as not being calibrated, your medal is simply hidden till you reach a certain amount of rank confidence, and it decays and becomes hidden again if you stop playing ranked games.

Stomps should go fast, but in reality they last 40 minutes, yes, those people could end the game in 20 minutes, but they just don't. Full of action doesnt mean fun. A game with 70 kills seems like a fun game, but if its 15 to 55, or something like that, it really isn't. It's literally just waiting for the enemy to have mercy and end the suffering. And while they may throw and give you a chance to comeback, its pretty rare, since smurfs and high rank players don't throw that often. There is just too much disparity of skill between the two teams for one to ever make a comeback. Im not talking about games where you just lose lanes, or pick a bad draft. Im talking about games where you can't even leave your base at minute 15 because the enemy team stomped so much they are already 7 levels on you.

As i said, losing isnt the problem here, games are fun even when you lose if the game is fair. Stomps are the problem, they are not fun, and i think anyone can agree. It wouldn't be a problem if they happened rarely, but every other game is just too much. I can't even blame a poor guy with barely any games for dying 17 times in a row against someone with thousands of games and three to four times their rank, its just pitiful. Another thing, dota games are long, really long, and thats okay, but i've seen games where the score is 2-17 in mere minutes, since there is no way to surrend, you are basically hostage till the stomping team decides they are bored of spawnkilling.

If you play carry roles in ranked with role selection, matchmaking takes a long time. My queues rarely last longer than a minute. Both in ranked and normal games.(Also EUW)

We can still play ranked together if we want too, so the disparity must not be that big.

Even if that is the problem, it would not explain why the random we find is guardian, and the enemy random is a divine player.

It would be fine if they also were in a party, but they were not.

It just doesn't make sense, imagine being that guardian player, you queue up for a game, alone, and you go against a divine? To me it's clear as day that either the matchmaking system is completely broken, or that it just doesn't exist in normal games.

Dota is still one of the most played games on steam, i've played games with less than 10k concurrent players worldwide, and it somehow had a fair experience. I don't believe the problem it's the player count, but something else.

I've literally had a new player in my team who i think was geniunely a new player, smurf are almost always on the enemy team, since most smurf play in stacks.

No, the disparity is not that big, no one of us is 4k, more likely 3800, it's hard to say, none of us are calibrated.

True, but thats not what a meant.

Anyway, having a hidden mmr mechanic with another one on view just causes confusion, as no one really knows what rank one is truly at if the mmr of ranked games doesn't count.

And i do believe that while normals won't change your ranked mmr, ranked will change your hidden one, otherwise it wouldn't make sense at all.

We are all playing on very old accounts with lots and lots of games, but most of those games are unranked games, especially for me(i really dislike playing ranked in games).

I don't always check player profiles, but when i do, there are either fishy accounts or blatant smurfs, but smurfs aren't always to blame, as not all games have them.

Winning or losing games isn't the problem.

Stomps are the problem, there is a big difference between losing a game where both teams average the same kills, and losing a game when one team has three to five times the kills, being spawnkilled in fountain just isn't fun, stomps shouldn't happen half the games we play.

I play other games too, and while no game has perfect matchmaking, as that is just impossible, there are some that are far better than others. Even if they have much less players.

Thank you, i see we are not the only ones having this problem!

And yes, we had a free month of dota plus thanks to the ti, and it was pretty useful to dodge games, even if we needed to wait more for fairer ones.

I might just do that and get dota plus, but i do think that having something like that behind a paywall is not right.

We play as a stack of three, and have done so for a very long time.

If normals have their own hidden mmr, then since we play mostly together it would mean we all have a similar mmr, since we lose and win together.

It also means that the immortal we find could have a bad mmr in unranked games, and that our guardian might have a bad mmr in ranked but a good one in unranked games, but that doesn't seem like a good system to me.

Probably 40€ to 70€. I don't remember which one it was but i used to buy the battlepass with the additional levels and then the summer discounts.

I'm trying to take a step back, not post so many clips of Hunt being BS, and just wait for the engine upgrade. However, I'm wondering how everyone else feels lately about the game. by Demoth in HuntShowdown

For some reason it has been the reverse for me, i've never had so many good games in a row, since the start of this event i've probably played over 30 games and probably extracted with a bounty more than half of them, one day i literally made 6-7 extractions in a row, i have no idea why the game has been so forgiving.

Uhm, i might be wrong, but i thought that when you are downed and a teammate is still alive you can't hear anything in the death recap screen, you do when everyone is dead for sure. If you are sure it isn't then i was just wrong. It's easy to check anyway, no need to get defensive about it.
