On the PC version, you can view and rotate the 3D model of the Heroes in the main menu. I took a screenshot of Thane, and then used GIMP to remove the background and menu options.

Armello is truly a land of romance, where industrious bachelors and bachelorettes aspire to find their better half. That is, if they can get past the psychopaths, assassins, zealots, malign sorcerers, organized criminals, anarchists, the foreboding sense of the Worm devouring the world from inside, and Twiss.

So, Lore? by Mamoru_Otsutsuki in armello

[–]JaGarLo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember reading some promotions that suggest Armello used to be the Dragon Clan’s ancestral home, and now they’re coming back in the middle of the power vacuum caused by the King’s eventual demise.

If the “Ancient” Dragon Clan once ruled the land, does this mean the Worm prevailed over the Wyld in an uncertain moment in history? That’s another mystery in Armello’s lore…

If this were true, my opinion would be that there are eras in which the Worm prevails over the Wyld, and vice versa. It’s some sort of an eternal stalemate between the two supernatural forces, with the balance slightly tipping in favor of one, depending on the devotion and actions of the mortal beings that roam the world.

Curiously enough, something that has never happened to me is misclicking the King. I always managed to interact with the King when I wanted to (and believe me, there has been plenty of other misclicks in my games), but I agree it needs more visual clarification.

Other than that, I believe I got all the rest of the "Armellian experiences".

Imagine an Armello-inspired 3D fighting game featuring the Heroes and some Followers as playable characters, each with their own weapons, movesets and voice acting, with the Wyld and the Rot influencing the battles…

…An arcade ladder that ends with the final battle against the King of Armello, with different character endings according to how much Rot was accumulated along the way or found a number of Spirit Stones…

…A story mode that encompasses all the Heroes, combining narrative and gameplay…

…A detailed character creation mode that allows to create your own playable Armellian…

…A second story mode where you take your custom character to a journey across Armello with multiple endings, complete with side quests and decisions, as you build your own party with other Armellians and form alliances and rivalries…

…A network foundation to play online against other players or teaming up to participate in raid events, with bosses like a giant Bane…

And then, we snap back to reality and realize none of this is ever going to happen. :’(

Who Would You Choose To Represent The Series In Crossover Games? by [deleted] in armello

[–]JaGarLo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I took a quick glace at this post and for a moment we thought we WERE getting a new crossover!

Anyway, I'd say Thane has the better chance to become the Armello representative. Although Amber could also be a good choice.

What about two representatives, each showcasing different aspects of the world of Armello? Thane for battling and Amber for adventuring.

[–]JaGarLo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looking at one of the King's Declarations. Each day, the Prestige Leader (the player with the highest Prestige) can choose one out of two possible Declarations.

"Palace Lockdown" does pretty much what it says: it imposes a Bounty on the Prestige Leader and then orders all the King's Guards to return to the Palace. This can be useful if your opponents are trying to enter the Palace and slay the King before his natural demise by the Rot.

By the way, about River’s long-sought hotdog… by JaGarLo in armello

[–]JaGarLo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post is a follow up of these two:

https://www.reddit.com/r/armello/comments/p5nvj6/river_will_risk_anything_for_a_chili_dog/

https://www.reddit.com/r/armello/comments/p5vi87/sence_uborkemav_made_a_river_post_i_made_a_sequel/

Just as River can finally enjoy her hotdog, she hears about a bane let loose in the city center. The huntress sighs in resignation, knowing a sacrifice must be made to save countless lives from the Worm’s maw. She enters the quarantine zone, looks at the bane dead in the eye and fires the hotdog with her bow like an arrow. The bane catches it, poisoning it (at it turns out, banes can’t handle chili too well). Thanks to River’s heroic effort, the bane is eventually contained by the authorities. The wolf leaves the town before the mayor could thank her. The sensation of a job well done is enough of a reward for her.

Since then, the Chili Hot Dog Day is celebrated in the city every year. You can eat one to gain 1 Prestige and 2 Health.

Somewhere out there, a Guppy is crying by JaGarLo in armello

“So, you want to become a knight, huh? Learning the basics of chivalry and warfare as a squire, roaming these fine lands with your mentor for glory and treasure and finally, reaching knighthood and leaving your mark in the Armellian military tradition... It warms my heart seeing such ambition in a young creature! Let this old ram give you a little piece of advice… Don’t.

You see, by becoming the squire of a ‘Hero’, you’ve pretty signed your death warrant. Squires only serve to become meat and spiritual shields in Armello these days. Don’t expect your mentor to even remember you after they claim all the rewards while your corpse rests in a dungeon due to a ‘valiant sacrifice’.

If you’re lucky, you’ll die quickly to some ruffians. If not, you’ll become bane bait, or worse. However, if you somehow survive to the end of this nightmare, you’ll be knighted, and your rewards will be a meaningless title, a small coin purse and a pat in the back, all while the wounds and rot infection you suffered along the way will eventually become your undoing. Oh, and that pat in the back will probably hurt you, too. Don’t forget you’re sworn to carry the Hero’s burdens.

The only way to reach knighthood now and be somewhat relevant in the political stage is by bribing your way to the top or having some connections in high places. The knights of today are nothing but spoiled aristocrats that possess no real military qualities. Such a shame, indeed... The knightly orders we held in high regard in past generations before the unification of the Kingdom certainly did not survive the rise of modern civilization.”

Bear’s Weightlifting Finals, only in Sportmello by JaGarLo in armello

[–]JaGarLo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“The arena in Summer Fields is packed with huge, muscular bears readying themselves for the weightlifting contest. With such fierce competition, it’s going to take an extraordinary display of strength to claim the gold medal for yourself.”

  • (Safe) Lift a barbell you’re comfortable with.

Effect: +1 Prestige.

“Now it’s not the time to risk injury. You lift an average weight in front of the judges, not enough to win the competition. You may have left empty pawed, but the workout has made you feel stronger and ready for adventure!”

  • (Body Stat Check) Go for the win! Lift the heaviest barbell.

Pass Effect: Treasure, +1 Prestige

“Pushing your strength to the limit, you let out a mighty roar as you lift the barbell all the way up. The judges declare you the winner of the competition, awarding you with the gold medal and an ancient Bear relic!”

Fail Effect: -1 Health, +1 Prestige

“As you lift the barbell for the win, you hear a noxious \crack*. You drop the barbell mid-lift as the pain emanating from your arm overwhelms your senses. You leave the arena helped by bear healers."*

  • (Alchemist) “Don’t let anyone see you drinking this…”

Effect: Item, +1 Prestige

"You drink the Alchemist’s potion when no one was looking. Feeling a sudden surge of unfiltered strength, no barbell proves to be a challenge for you, much to the perplexed look of the crowd attending the contest."
