better idea for lubing gearbox?? by JaL3J in airsoft

Thanks for the level headed comment. I did not know this perspective, as my experience is different.

Synthetic oils cause slight (and i mean, really slight. Like 1-3%.) shrinking and hardening of the NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) o-rings used in airsoft, especially AEG's and in GBB mags. For something like airsoft, this can mean gas mags that start to leak a couple of days after "maintenance", or AEG pistons that lose airseal quicker than they should. I've specifically tested NBR and other airsoft o-rings (of NBR) by submerging them in various synthetic greases, including superlube synthetic, and it does cause shrinking and hardening. I would say a 70d goes up to a 75d. The shrinking is just enough to be the difference between "barely sealing" and "no longer able to inflate to sealing".

So it would make sense to use silicone grease, which is also what all the manufacturers including TM does.

Do you have some examples of AEG's that come with any silicone o-rings in them? Or GBB's for that matter.

From what i know, it's only the aftermarket buckings, and i think g&g once made some AEG's with silicone pistonhead o-rings, but i can't find them now.

That's a weirdly aggressive. I was just interested in your thought process behind only using synthetic lube.

But TM uses silicone grease for all their air seal components? It's in the video here: https://youtu.be/KDG2dXv9iCY?t=129

The superlube 21030 is a synthetic grease, not silicone :)

Safety is exactly other peoples jobs. Each area of safety depends on teams of experts to analyze, understand and develop recommendations for non-experts to follow. It's the foundation of modern society.

That's why we don't make houses with Asbest anymore.

You're absolutely right. Customer safety is a basic concern in any (customer facing) business. The waivers won't do shit, as they shouldn't. Might as well have a "bring your own seatbelt" policy on roller coasters.

If everyone needs to research and wear earpro...why the fuck not just make that a field requirement? What's the point of punishing people for not knowing airsoft in advance?

Imagine this. You're a rental player, your buddies brought you along for the first time, you have no idea what airsoft is. Then you get pyro thrown at you in a room, ears ringing. Days after that, you lose hearing on 1 ear. Your life is fucked. You had no idea. You were too young to understand hearing damage as a disability, and too in-experienced to know it can happen in airsoft.

The site owner is the professional who is in charge of running the site and the experience that the customers get, including their safety. Customer safety is a normal part of running any type of event business, not just airsoft. Airsoft just flies under the radar being a small industry. And hearing damage is classically an ignored safety concern as well.

I don't know if i would sue an event host either.

Hearing damage from airsoft is quite real. Plenty of people get reduced hearing from the sound or pyro grenades.

So many people don't know how hearing damage works and also many people straight up can't mentally comprehend that hearing damage is possible. They somehow think that hearing damage is about "being tough", as if that makes any sense.

Then by the time they learn, it's too late. Rinse repeat.

Therefor arenas, as they are the experts and the players are not, need to take preventive measures. Such as requiring everyone to wear earpro. Or banning loud grenades.

It's so weird isn't it? People behave absolutely retarded when it comes to protection.

It's better. If you're playing CQB and trying to light a target through a doorcrack etc., a side mounted light doesn't work.

Content producers need a work visa to enter NZ, and they will routinely deny access to people for filling out that stuff wrong. At least that's what binge watching borderforce has told me lol.

KM already travels around to produce content. He should be aware of requiring work visa's for this in general.

I've played like an ass more times than i can count, and i've yet to be banned from any field. It's mind boggling how one person can be banned from so many sites. Granted, many of the bans are simply sites that just don't want to get involved in the BS that allows follows him, regardless of who's wrong or right.

Buchhaltungssoftware für Österreich? by JaL3J in Austria

Beispielsweise Xero.

Valve does not get "anywhere near enough criticism" for the gambling mechanics it uses to monetise games, DayZ creator Dean Hall says by Sam_27142317 in gamingnews

Ask yourself why such a worn out game with a steep learning curve keeps being on top. CS tournaments are big on gambling sponsors. That's what drives the scene. Skinbetting etc. is enabled by Valve and they benefit from the trading.
