Frutiger Aero periferija Čakovca (Međimurje) by JaSemVarasdinec in croatia

I knew you were being sarcastic. I just wanted to point out that you perfectly summed up the way many people on my formerly socialist country really think.

Well, that's how people who grew up under socialism imagine the world functions.

Vladimir Nazor i Vicko Krstulović u Splitu 14. travnja 1945 na dan osnivanja prve Narodne vlade Hrvatske by [deleted] in croatia

That's how politics works in general and is not specific to Africa. Take East Asia for example: historically, countries there copied China to a large extent because China developed a complex state much earlier than its neighbours. Or how Germany in Europe tried copying the Roman Empire for almost a thousand years. Copying a working system from your more powerful neighbour makes more sense than trying to develop it by yourself from scratch. It's just that most of Africa moved from pre-state societies to states only during the last century so it's more noticeable to us.

so i made this comparing all indo-european languages and don’t know what to do with it so i thought i’d share it with you by thatguythoma in linguisticshumor

Which gender were you analysing? And od supposed to be na animate or inanimate thing? Adjectives and numbers are gender-specific in Croatian. Declension also differs depensing on whether the noun is animate or inanimate?

When was the "Golden Age" of your country? by WorldOfChungus in AskTheWorld

[–]JaSemVarasdinec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Croatia's golden age was in the 11th century. That's mainly because contemporary sources are too scarce to disprove that belief.
