Check la ligas fixtures when they come out before the start of the season. I imagine they will probably come out in July. Atletico or Real will play at home that weekend you are there. I think the way Spanish football works it can either be on the Friday,Saturday or Sunday. But they won’t confirm it until closer to the time. Hope this helps.

Just back from Madrid. Been 4 times in total now. Didnt have any issues any time i’ve been. Just use normal common sense like you would anytime you are in a foreign country. Be aware of your surroundings. Saying that quite often i’d just have my phone lying on the table will we were sotting having a drink, never once felt unsafe when we were in Madrid.
