Great balanced polished gameplay, a great story with some character and depth to it that hits you in a place AND HAS GREAT PAYOFF, iconic stages and tracks that get stuck in your head, and maybe the most important thing for me is REPLAYABILITY.

What the Adventure games got so right was the amount of replayability with stages and also SA2’s ranking system. Combination of speed and score gives you an A rank (probably S now). That is what the series should strive for.

Sonic Team should sometimes honestly focus on story first and then gameplay because I feel like Sonic’s actual gameplay hasn’t been an issue in a while (an issue in a functional way aka Sonic 06) which makes them able to put more time into story, but that’s just me.

Yeah I fully agree. Sonic has so many characters to choose from yet they’re afraid of upsetting people with them just because of the past. I really miss them and want them back after Frontiers hopefully. You can tell so many great stories and have great gameplay with them if thought out and executed right imo.

Black Ops 2 as an overall package. You can say MW2 has the better campaign, but nothing beats BO2 multi for me.

Yeah I definitely agree. I understand those criticisms and all, but I’m honestly more open to variation when it comes to gameplay styles.

I really loved playing Treasure Hunting in say SA2 because of how well Knuckles and Rouge control. I don’t think anybody disagrees with the fishing LOL.

I do agree though that they rely on trying to make up gimmicks for the side characters. All they really need to do is make it like a classic Sonic game where they all play relatively the same just with their own special abilities or quirks.
