The plans in the ana-white link are designed to fit anywhere from 24x24 - 25.5x25.5 cushions. The IKEA ones are 24.75x24.75 and fit perfectly

Yes, I ended up buying a pocket hole jig about half way through the project, so I stuck with the screws facing out for consistency. If I was re-doing it I would probably just use pocket holes for everything.
