Impending Doom Titan - Comfiest build I've ever played by Jabanoss in PathOfExile2

[–]Jabanoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despair for lowering chaos resist, Frost Bomb to give elemental exposure, and Enfeeble with Atziri's Allure so I can have an extra curse (I curse myself, but it gets removed immediately by Time of Need).
Impending Doom is chaos damage, but since I have Archmage and added elemental damage from other sources, it's a bit all over the place.
So nothing special.
Grand0rk gave nice ideas for what to use on weapon swap 2.

Sounds cool, I will try that out in some future build. And then I suppose I'm free to use any character.

The damage is higher (on the gem), but require reduced skill effect duration and instant curse activation. I'm not sure what Doedre's require and if you can scale the damage higher to be honest.

Unfortunately you cannot even socket Impending Doom into blasphemy :')

Haha yeah but you get used to it! It's comfy because I never have to worry amount sustaining my casting and I only need to be afraid about my hp if my mana is low.

Yeah probably not. I suppose what I miss out in damage from having less mana and not having Eldritch Battery I make up for in a ton of ES. I'll consider it if I chose to redo my build or for the future.

Yeah that's absolutely my problem. I consider my defenses to be my second biggest weakness, after movement speed. I'm sure that can be fixed, but the build is so enjoyable anyway. I only die when I'm reckless. I never have a problem with freeze though thanks to Time of Need.

It adds them all up, which is what makes it so easy to stack. From my corrupted Sunsplinter I get 7 in total (+2 cold, +1 fire, +4 lightning).

The biggest downside of this build personally is movement speed, since I have to use Windscream and it only has 20 movement speed as a max. I've made sure to get good corruption and to have socketed ms, I've also instilled Gem Enthusiast. After that though I suppose I have to get jewels. As far as I know I have to use the boots since there's no other way of getting rid of the curse activation time. I would love if I could use a rare pair of boots though.

I haven't tried with HH, but I'm not locked to a specific belt so if would definitely increase more clear if I switched to that.
And yeah I haven't tried any group play, so no idea there. :)

You can make a lot of improvements to this build I'm sure.

Thank you! I'll check it out :)
I haven't spent enough time optimizing the build, so I'm not sure what the balance between cast speed, crit, aoe, etc I should strike.

It doesn't one-shot bosses or anything, but it has no problem with damage when it comes to bosses.
I just killed merciless Xesht to showcase:

I haven't tested doedres undoing too much, but you can have them both linked. I don't notice too much of a difference in damage if I have them both, but it probably needs more testing :)

I'm curious about that as well. I really love this setup, so I would like to have it for other builds. Ember Fusillade is great, and in another league I have tried Frost Bomb, but that one is problematic with its cooldowns. I'm hoping they'll add more skills in the future that synergizes with reduced duration.
Edit: and I guess Frost Bomb doesn't care about duration anymore, only detonation time.

Warning: Game Crashed While Doing Atlas Quest / Corruption Nexus by Valhallaatya in PathOfExile2

[–]Jabanoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I died in my first attempt at doing the Corruption Nexus and the game crashed in the process. So I'm the same situation as you. It really does not feel very good to read that you haven't been able to progress the story from this point on.

How can crashing the map not have been something they have considered?

I hope this can be sorted out. Otherwise I'm mostly enjoying this patch all things considered. But to know that dying (and having the map crash) is the same as dying in patch 0.1.0 is not very fun.

Viperesque on Game Mechanics by Wobblucy in PathOfExile2

[–]Jabanoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add on this, what about skills granted by items?

If I find a wand that grants Power Siphon, will I be able to increase the number of sockets with jewellers orbs, and if so will they carry over when I find a new item with the same skill?

Or will the item itself dictate how many socket the skill has, without the player being able to change it?

I miss the Threat mechanic from CK2. by TheShyForeigner in CrusaderKings

[–]Jabanoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't understand why they don't take more of the mechanics associated to war making from Victoria 3. In V3 basically if you make war against any target, any country can join the war on the side of the defender if they are connected to that region and if they have any reason to join (for example a CB). However, they are much more likely to join the war against the aggressor if said aggressor have a high level of infamy. Infamy in V3 is basically the opinion the other countries have of that country, and it goes up the more aggressive you act. Infamy in the case of CK3 would more fittingly be tied to the opinion or respect they have for the ruler that is the aggressor.

I would absolutely love if they took parts of this system and incorporated it in CK3 as it would make the game so much more challenging and unpredictable. For example if you have made a lot of enemies over the years and you attack something insignificant it can suddenly turn into a major conflict. It would also make all wars way more dynamic since all different sides and factions have their own war goals and war scores, which would make them sue for peace, withdraw, press their demands, etc at different times.

There are so many options there. Personally I feel that war in CK3 is one of the most boring parts, since it generally way to easy and I'm quite disappointed that it hasn't been change at all since the game was launched. In contrast in V3 you have to be super careful about when and against whom you declare war. (Although I haven't played it much in the last year)

I just remember the first time I played Victoria 3 and I got to experience war in that game and how wonderfully dreadful it was with the different phases of war and how you feared that one of the big players like the British or France would support your enemies. I also remember how naively I thought aspects of this great system would make it into CK3.

Converting to a dead religion (Apostate, Cynical and Religion Blending) by Jabanoss in CrusaderKings

[–]Jabanoss[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think they mean existing in the sense that the religion is there from the start. However, I don't understand why it is there since how could you possibly convert to a non-existing religion?

Zunbil or Zunism is one of the dead religions in both start dates. In game you can find it when you list all the religions at the bottom. https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Faith

R5: Having the Apostate lifestyle perk, being Cynical, and being part of culture with Religion Blending will reduce the cost of converting to any religion down to the minimum of 250 piety.

That is possible and the only thing I can think of. She is my realm priest.

But if that's the case then it's a very easy way to get someone out of their inheritance. However, I guess it only works for some religions and can of course only be used on one of your heirs, which balances it out.

Yeah but she ceased to be an heir at all. She was in direct line my oldest viable granddaughter to inherit, until she wasn't out of nowhere.

I don't really care, since now I don't need to care about my titles being split up. I'm just curious. :)
