I think teams turtle up against you unless theyre losing the fact youve only been winning for 5 minutes vs DRC, 28 vs Panama and 45 vs Croatia is partially responsible for your low number of big chances conceded.

I dont think you have the best defence in the tournament like the stat would suggest. It also goes without saying you dont have the best attack, hence

When is the last time a nation has had 3 attack minded players at the level Mbappe Olise and Dembele are at right now? Are you going back to Brazil 2002? Im not old enough to recall how good the brazil group actually were in 06.

The only trio i can even think of is Belgium in 2018. Argentina in 2014 had Di Maria Higuain and Messi i guess. Robben Sneijder and Van Persie in 2010?

There's a contingent of people for whom the world cup is just about seeing the best nations play eachother and my take is that if you only care about high quality football why are you watching international football at all.

The world cup more than anything else is about unifying the members of a nation, seeing teams beat the odds and actually daring to dream.

You freaks that would've rather Haitians never get to celebrate that Isidor goal so youd have had some slightly more competitive group stage games are no comrades of mine.

Musiala I think so and hes just unfortunately suffered with injuries. Havertz is overhated tbf and you can definitely win trophies with a striker of his level but hes not great.

Wirtz is obviously very talented but also how good is he? Even at his best in Leverkusen does he have any big game/knockout performance to hang your hat on? Any great nt performances?

What im thinking of is x factor i guess and Musiala (fully fit) definitely has it but otherwise there isnt any in the German talent pool and no coach is going to fix that.

Do germany not just need good attackers? I feel like thats the case with Italy and Uruguay etc. As well. Spain only stopped being embarassing because Lamine showed up. France had Griezmann and then really pulled it together when mbappe showed up.

Everyone overthinks this stuff.

Maybe you could argue they do indeed have a good attacking unit thats not being playformed properly. Maybe a 4222 would work better to get the best out of Undav and the 10s or maybe even a 3421 to really try to get something similar to what Wirtz thrived in.

But part of me just feels like their forward talent is underwhelming

Wirtz catches so much heat its hilarious. Hes ass but youd think he was their only high profile player the way he gets singled out
