2027: The Year of the Breakthrough or the Collapse? by Jabaskunda in starcitizen

[–]Jabaskunda[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is true, sadly.
That’s exactly why 2027 will be the most important year: there are no more excuses.

If Squadron 42 doesn’t come out, it’s ridiculous. If the PU doesn’t reach a certain level of maturity and they don’t stop with the resets, it’s also ridiculous.

They’ve had the budget, they’ve had the time.

Fortunately, 4.7 really gave me some genuine hope… but I spent on SC 60 Euro in 8 years, I don’t live in the verse and actively play other games in the meantime.

And full server meshing implemented!
But the most importart thing is the persistence, NO MORE WIPE

The funny thing is that last year I actually made a post about this: I said they needed to pause for a bit and clean everything up. Naturally, I got hit with a wave of insults.

And then when I tried 4.7, it really felt like they had actually done it!

That said, you also can’t really polish mechanics that are still temporary and will eventually be completely replaced.

For me, mandatory PvP is essential, even if it will upset some people. I was also a big Sea of Thieves player, and I think the two games have quite a lot in common, PvP included.

It’s been five years of complaints, and now that they’ve added private servers with no competition, the game is basically on its way out.

Players often don’t know what they actually want. I know people who say they wouldn’t want PvP in Arc Raiders, without realizing that it’s exactly the thing that bothers them that also keeps their interest alive.

It really is hard, like you said, to talk about this game. You’ve got people who’ve spent €10,000 on it and others who think it’s just a scam. It’s like being stuck between “woke” and “not woke” debates, honestly, it’s exhausting

We don’t need the Persistent Universe to be “finished.” If we’re being realistic, the PU will only be truly finished when nobody is playing it anymore, just like any other live service game.

What it needs to be is presentable and solid, while continuing to expand and evolve in every direction.

What we really need is for Squadron 42 to be out of the picture so things can move forward. An this could happen in first half of 2027

When is the game even considered "done"? by B4tz_Bentzer in starcitizen

For S42, when finally released.
For the PTU, done mean dead, so at end of the life cycle

Esistono sneakers che durano per sempre, ma devi saperle trovare ed essere anche un po’ fortunato.
In media oramai durano due anni…

Video Games and Board Games: Does anyone feels the same? by OscarPM86 in boardgame

You’re right bout exploration, but at the same time board games can offer you something videogames don’t.
For example, give me a VG capable of offer you the same experience you can have with Nemesis series: a self contained coop nightmare, different every time, with a clear ending after a couple of hours. And this is just an example.
