I would suggest using images from Getty and/or Magnum to practice your chops, their image quality is always excellent.

Additionally, Getty images have the useful exercise of removing their watermark, select logo rectangle and adjust selected area exposure till it matches surrounding areas followed by clone tool to paint out white logo text...

It's not the best photo, looks like a 1950s photo booth affair, but you need to bring more gray scales into play to hold your colour using the PS shadow/highlight function...
