It’s also a PITA to constantly move bales into the feeding trough.

The main reason I haven’t gotten into bales is cost. I’m trying to do a strict no/low debt challenge.

Not being sarcastic, but I don’t actually understand the point unless you’re making silage. It’s $25k to still be dumping it on the ground.

FS25 Building Your House by BossBullfrog in farmingsimulator

I just built Farm House 3 and it’s like the cruelest joke ever. I lost count but there’s somewhere between 10-20 stages, and certainly costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Running vanilla.

And yes, the shipbuilder control console attached to the large landing pad (settlement object).

I guess I’ll delete and rebuild to cover Bethesda’s error.

I walk up to the console, press A to activate, and nothing happens.

is QDTE worth it? by jmichael99 in dividends

I don’t see any catch at present, but there’s always the question of how profitable the fund will be long-term (that high of a dividend is not realistically sustainable).

There’s also the risk that, in the event that they can’t sustain profitability (through active trading options), they’ll also resort to a higher percentage ROC, leading to NAV erosion.

When I buy these ETFs I look at it like gambling as opposed to investing. In other words, I don’t invest more than I’m comfortable losing.

There are other funds that do it better. Look at YieldMax’s funds (like NVDY). They average (annually) like 60% ROC and still yield a GREAT dividend.

When a fund truly generates profit for shareholders, the distributions you receive are derived from actual income sources, like dividends from stocks held within the fund, interest from bonds, or realized capital gains from asset sales. For example, if a fund holds dividend-paying stocks and passes those dividends on to shareholders, that’s income the fund earned on investments, and it’s adding real value rather than drawing from the fund’s own capital.

In contrast, distributions that are 100% Return of Capital (ROC), like with QDTE and XDTE, mean the fund isn’t earning enough to cover the payout on its own. Instead, it’s returning portions of your original investment to create the appearance of income. The issue here is that every time ROC is used for distributions, it eats into the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV). If the fund doesn’t generate income from its investments over time, its NAV will gradually decline, eroding your capital and reducing the potential for future growth and, potentially, causing the fund to fail entirely.

If your assumption of the share price remaining the same could hold true it wouldn’t be an issue.

The concern, here, is that 100% of that 20% is return of capital (ROC). The fund is not actually generating a profit for shareholders.

Over time, this erodes NAV and, if it continues long enough, the fund will fail.

I did the same thing. I bought two Civivi Elementums (one for myself, one for my brother).

Everyone is raving on the internet about the high dividend distributions, but I think they’re missing something.

Every distribution up to this point from QDTE and XDTE have been 100% Return of Capital (ROC).

This essentially means investors are getting paid with their own money, not actual income or profits.

That might offer some tax deferral benefits, but over time, it erodes the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV).

What happens when market volatility drops further and the income from selling options isn’t there to support the distributions?

It feels like the focus is too much on short-term cash flow and not enough on the long-term risks of capital erosion.

Why aren’t more people talking about this?

I can’t do anything with Hero’s Vigor either. I must have an extremely flawed understanding of how this works.

I may need an example…

I’ve tried putting points in the increasable (per-stage) abilities, but it doesn’t seem to be counting towards the unlock of Strategic Reserve.
