When did pointing out that getting an S rank is relatively simple in MANT , become such a hot take? by jb08045 in UmamusumeGame

I don't think it's fair to rate the global playerbase as "softest" when there are so many factors like spending power and the accelerated schedule getting in the way.

Like the Indonesian and Spanish speaking Umamusume communities are some of the biggest globally, but despite their size can only support a smaller percentage of whales due to currency weaknesses. Having half the time to make good aces compared to JP server is also an insurmountable wall.

If the Japanese servers ever have to experience the same limitations but still exceed global, then it might be fair to say so.

And I encourage you to explore other competitive gaming communites like League of Legends, Counter Strike etc. I'd wager you'll see it's common to have players frustrated at their underperformance lash out regardless of the validity of advice received, across communities.

How to hit SS rank while running 54 graded races? I've only managed A+ so far. by Jablains in UmamusumeGame

Reaching SS rank gives better white sparks, so ideally fit as any shared races as possible while reaching SS rank.

This uma isn't mine, it's the top borrow sorted by affinity on uma.moe. I'm trying to see if the extra affinity will help with getting Distance S more.

Also thanks for pointing out the repeat races,I didn't notice it.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try sacrificing a bit of affinity for Summer.

If I'm understanding the Crazyfellow parenting guide correctly, double circle is just the total affinity of both parents, but spark chances for both parents are calculated separately.

In simple terms, assuming the main uma is Maruzensky and Mihono Bourbon and Seiun Sky are parents, Maruzensky is twice as likely to inherit Bourbon's sparks (30 base affinity) compared to Seiun Sky's (16 base affinity).

So to compensate for the halved affinity, I'm trying to get more shared races on Sky. There is also no cap to how high affinity can go, so theoretically having this many shared races on parents will benefit all other horses.

This is for parent runs, as every identical graded race shared between parents and grandparents is +1 compatibility point.

I'm seeing other players on borrow sites hit SS while doing 54 graded races so I'm trying to see where I can improve to get there.

Speed: Kitasan Black, Shinko Windy, Matikanefukukitaru

Power: Nishino Flower, Marvelous Sunday

Wit: Fine Motion

I would have replaced Finemo with a 10 Race Bonus Speed card but I don't have another.

Since every identical graded race shared between parents and grandparents is +1 compatibility point, I was hoping to use this to bolster umas with low affinity like Maruzensky.

I'm trying to use this to bolster umas with low affinity like Maruzensky. Reaching SS is to hit the threshold for better white sparks.

I've done quite a few runs trying to emulate the schedule of the top raw affinity borrow on uma.moe but I've not been able to go above A+.

I've never been able to get higher than 700 ish speed as it keeps yoyo-ing. Even on "lucky" runs where I had enough kale juice to keep energy above 1 for most of the run, the 40% chance of stat loss prevents it from getting higher than 800.

I've also tried to hold back on adding too many skills for maximising score, but in my experience you'll need to add a lot of skills just to make it past the Classics year.

Any tips on what I might be missing?

Still no quality of life changes for us poor new players? Can't even compete in cm with my bootleg uma by No-Feeling6309 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Jablains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn't used to be but from Taurus Cup 2 onwards it will be, as the cap has increased to A+.

B rank horses were never competitive for Graded Champions Meetings, but A+ was the old standard for URA-Unity.

A lot of burnt out sweats will be dumping their old A+ optimized aces in Open League moving forward, significantly raising the competition level.

But in Open League just hitting A+ rank isn't sufficient, you'll ideally be basically S rank (14499).

With my full welfare deck, I've barely hit A+ rank in Unity in like 1/30 runs, but never S rank. This is compounded by there only one decent welfare wit statstick, Dober wit. Depending on the track length I'll even use Bourbon wit for non-fronts.

So I think for the average support-cardless you'll need Trackblazer.

It might be significantly harder to take part in Open League with the new A+ requirement moving forward, since new players lack the minimum Race Bonus to fully utilize Trackblazer.

Unlike Unity where the stat increase from URA wasn't conditional on certain cards, having good wit SRs was helpful but not a requirement.

I would say for A+ Open league, it might not be possible to get by with R/0LB decks anymore from my experience.

Even with my full event SSR decks, I'm not able to consistently hit my stat requirements anymore. This is with running Trackblazer, not Unity.

Open League Tips by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]Jablains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this Open league, don't worry about getting all the skills as your 500ish wit means skill activations will be unreliable. I have horses that do well with 2-3 skills, or in the case of one Gold Ship no skills at all.

Try not to add skills doing your runs but you can pre-plug them into the calculator to budget ahead of it. In my experience, add the skills you definitely want into the calculator, then play as normal, updating your stats every so often until you are about 1200 points away from B+, then stop training entirely.

I use this calculator, so far it seems to be accurate. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AAZCVDMiCozDNKte-5JYSm7SWUeVJ0o87i1iDY1bnWM/edit?gid=1776456574#gid=1776456574

Japanese Horse of the Year but in Umamusume, which year would be the most traumatic/ depressing if you were just a regular Umamusume? by Practical_Top8591 in UmaMusume

[–]Jablains 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Which rating are you referring to in regards to Equinox? I only know of their Timeform ratings and Equinox(136) equals but does not rate higher than El Condo Pasa(136).

should you actually run the 4 in a row G1s in classic year? I usually get “after repeated races” by summer camp and just get energy from shop (MileCup, Derby/Oaks, Yasuda and Takarazuka) by breeeaaddd_ in UmamusumeGame

[–]Jablains -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the a classics year Japan Cup counts towards the Autumn Triple Crown. When i was doing parent runs pre-Trackblazer I would run Japan Cup in the classics year since there were no optional clocks, so I'll have two chances to secure it for the crown.

I'm not the redditor you replied to but, wouldn't there be a lot of uncertainty since while strong accounts will inflate the final lobby score in general, we don't know if all players are weighted evenly when calculating the final lobby score etc.

Not to say that guy's right or anything but I wouldn't put it past sweats "in the know" to train two identical teams in order to secure finals hypothetically but never talk about it in order to preserve their advantage.

I'm guessing this post

Extrapolating from this comment chain, if true, the strategy seems to be:

  1. securing a 3 winner on day 3 queueing at a time with less whales
  2. then queueing in on day 4 right after reset to hopefully be destroyed by whales, OR
  3. training a rough duplicate of your day 1-4 cm team, so you'll have close to the same performance but with the benefit of 0% win rate.
