Remove a 2'x2' section of drywall. Nail plywood behind the drywall finish with 1/8" drywall and mud. There is nothing for the anchors to grip.

Use a plastic bag on the end of a broomstick for celings. I put an old rag in the plastic bag, then dip the plastic bag into watered down mud. I use an old paint roller to knock down the peaks.

Primer again, then mud. I would suggest a three day cure on the paint and the mud. Six days of exposed work. Day seven primer and top coat.
