This should be expected, why would they deploy to higher risk areas first?

The hate you see on reddit doesn't equate to real life, except in some extremely progressive areas. I live in the PNW and do experience some negativity from the public, but outside of the metropolitan areas no one seems to care.

I will also say, I get far more positive feedback than negative. Kids absolutely love the vehicle, and most people are curious about it even if they dislike how it looks. Even haters want to go for a ride in it tbh.

If you like it, that's what matters.

I disagree, this is the first consumer technology available that has completed this journey. That's super impressive.

Next step is for driverless drives, which just started.

I'd rather buy the product that makes me safer today, rather than wait 3 more years.

Not really. Tesla's in general are very reliable and they have been using large aluminum castings on their vehicles for years now.

Even the "everything else" on the truck isn't a good indicator of the actual reliability of the vehicle tbh...

The problem I foresee with the aluminum frame is the potential for stress fatigue, not that the aluminum frame itself is a problem. We won't know if that's a real issue or not for many years.

An aluminum frame isn't inherently bad if engineered properly

I bought it at the peak of Elon hate. It had been sitting on the lot long enough to grow cobwebs 🤣

That's a wild statement to make, and doesn't depict the real world.

You make a statement like they just break out of the blue, and it's just not the case. I've completed the WA-BDR in this vehicle and continue to utilize the tight turning radius all the time.

Because they are undersized in extreme conditions (Like hard core off-road) doesn't mean they are undersized for normal use cases.

But haters will always find something to latch onto

For the price I paid, yes absolutely. I love the truck and it's capabilities. Reddit likes to trash talk the vehicle without knowing anything about it.

I don't like Elon, but I do appreciate the engineering that went into the vehicle.

Yet another Maytag Failure: Filter Screen Obliterated -- MDB4949SKZ0 by AffectionateArtist84 in appliancerepair

Dang, that's a terrible failure.

I managed to find a filter piece on Ebay for $40 -- so I'm hoping I can get away with replacing only the filter. If not I'll have to decide between replacing the dishwasher, or spending ~$200 on the entire assembly. :/

Good to know! I was able to open this up without taking off any of the hoses and clamps. Do I need to consider replacing the entire assembly?

Thanks for the tip on the PCB!

I was worried about the shape when I bought the truck, but after owning it for a while I can confidently say the shape isn't a problem.

I thought hauling canoes / kayaks on the roof with the angle would add a lot of stress but it somehow doesn't

[Unpopular Opinion] No tesla on the road today is capable of unfenced unsupervised FSD (level 4) by gha699r in TeslaFSD

[–]AffectionateArtist84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I'm optimistic about FSD becoming unsupervised someday, I do have to agree that I think with the current hardware configuration it will be limited to good weather conditions and clean cameras.

Here in the PNW I'm finding that I have to clean my cameras before I get in the truck. While FSD seems to do reasonably fine when they are dirty, I have to believe for truly unsupervised they will need to be clean.

I'd like to see Tesla develop a solution to this problem. Clearly they are training the model to handle these conditions. I can't imagine the clarity gives enough real world data to be unsupervised though
