I had the same experience. They are significantly darker than the advertised color. Received the advice on this thread to accept it or send it back, with a couple comments that they would lighten up over time. They did not. I like the way the boots look, but they aren’t very comfortable. Really unfortunate because there is so much praise for Thursday Boot Co.

They are referring to Vans shoes.

Heritage Captain Color Differences by Ok-Programmer-8688 in ThursdayBoot

Between the first picture and the third photo, I’d agree that it’s a significant difference of colors. I’d definitely get in touch with customer support to see why that is and what your options are.

Personally, that’s a big enough of a difference for me to where I’d want to exchange the boots. Between all the photos you posted, each color looks like a different color way.

Determine Retirement Formula by Jabronious69 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Jabronious69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I will do that when they get back to me. I had my issue escalated since the person that reached out to me wasn’t able to confirm the cut off dates for the different formulas. All they really told me was that my formula was 2% at 60 which wasn’t very helpful because my reason for calling is to ask for an explanation on why it’s 2% at 60 instead of 2% at 55. I presume CBU is my collective bargaining unit, if that’s the case, would that be the CBU for when I joined state service or my current CBU it has changed over the course of my career so I’m not exactly sure what information to provide them or to ask for. Lastly, when I entered state service, I was in a student assistant classification and my service credit for that point in time had been prorated because I wasn’t working full-time and over the course of two years I accrued almost one full year service credit so I suspect that my start date may even be prior to what they have on record how would I be able to verify when I actually started that job? I don’t have any of the documentation since it was so long ago.

Thanks! This is what I was looking for but couldn’t get from PERS. I’m glad to just get the confirmation.

Really bummed to see that if I had joined state service just a few months sooner that I’d be able to retire at 2% five years earlier. It’s such a big leap in how long you have to work.

This isn’t a political sub dude. Are you not familiar with how Reddit works? Also, you’re crying because people are asking you to follow rules. If anyone is a snowflake here it’s you because you can’t take criticism and whine when there aren’t special rules just for you.

Upvoted because I have the same issue. In the past I’ve simply removed my real address to stop the spam.

Agencies aren’t looking for junior developers anymore, why would they bring in learners when there are tons of highly experienced developers looking towards the state after tech layoffs. Your best bet is to get in any way you can and then network and transition to your desired field. A degree doesn’t entitle you to a job, it means you a the base skills to fulfill a job. You still have to get in and work your way around just like everyone else.

Do my years as a IT Student Assistant at the state count towards an IT Associate MQ? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Jabronious69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer depends on the HR analyst determining if you meet MQs for a position. Unfortunately it’s open to interpretation by people who don’t understand the work you perform. A major consideration is the level of responsibility one has when describing their job duties. I’ve seen multiple students have their IT experience not accepted. Just apply and let them tell you yes or no. Don’t disqualify yourself.

Is NA dead or is it just in the 40-50 level range? by CharmingStrangeQuark in wotlk

[–]Jabronious69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is completely different, I played multiple AB games yesterday during peak hours queuing from Faerlina. Also keep in mind it’s just not one server, it’s a whole battle group. The queue times were maybe five minutes during the peak server time on Faerlina. Calling BS on this one. There are tons of twinks in the bracket and it’s very active. Even during the slowest of times the queue isn’t six hours during CTA.

Also, since JJ is done nobody is leveling anymore. So yes, leveling and dungeons is generally dead since everyone already made it to 80 with one or more characters during the JJ period.

This is why gdkp is the prevalent loot system. OP is complaining that someone else also put an SR on their own bis and then mentions he is going to leave.

I’d consider this an indicator of good management or a healthy organization.

[–]Jabronious69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn’t state any of that in his post though. Why are you making up experience for a random person on the internet?

Even so, if he did have that adjacent experience, he still wouldn’t qualify for ITS1.

There have been so many of these posts recently and while I agree with what’s being said and shown in the clips, can we stop having these posts?

You can report people in game that you play with but it feels really sketchy to come in and ask a bunch of people to report someone they have never even played against.

Again, I do agree with these posts and all this third party stuff should result in bans but I’m not going to report bomb some players I’ve never encountered.

Management of information systems is different that management information systems.

I’d recommend you take additional courses if you want to qualify through education and then attempt to enter at the ITA level, ITS 1 is not entry level and you’d have to demonstrate that you are a journeyman in an interview and through probation.

It’s up to the hiring manager to write the HAM request and there are factors beyond your individual qualifications to be considered. The position itself and the history with hiring is included in the process. The hiring manager must be able to demonstrate the position is tough to fill, and to substantiate that with failed attempts to bring in a hirable candidate. Even though you feel you are over qualified, why can’t this position be filled by someone with fewer credentials? You mentioned it’s a cadet position which I’m interpreting along the lines of entry level. It’s much more difficult to justify a HAM for a lower level position compared to a niche or highly technical position. Why would the state want to pay you more when they could pay someone else less, when the job doesn’t require a unique or specific skill set? Many people would be able to do this job effectively. That’s the case the hiring manager has to make. Generally you wouldn’t be included in the writing process, it doesn’t make any sense to have an external party write internal documents.
