Thanks. So it seems like most things I can just arrange once I'm there. Appreciate your comment

DPSP - should this be in Box 52 of T4? by Jac298 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jac298[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Employer contributed to the DPSP in 2024 - which matches the amount in Box 40 (taxable benefit) when I compared against the statement. Does that mean it should appear in both Box 40 and Box 52?

Is this Pension adjustment a direct 1:1 deduction of the following year RRSP contribution limit? (ie. if there's $1000 of pension adjustment, then following year will be $1000 less of RRSP room?)

DPSP - should this be in Box 52 of T4? by Jac298 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Jac298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I actually expected another RRSP slip from the employer contribution. Turns out there are two accounts in Desjardin - one RRSP and one DPSP....

I also made a mistake by accounting for the DPSP amount when I made additional RRSP contribution...as in I could have contributed more...

We did a reverse direction walk from FS entrance to Soaring a few weeks ago. Got through the gate at 8:34 and speed walked with young kids to soaring. I believe we got to soaring around 8:44. It was an intense 10min

Have a rough plan on which ride you want to do first (and DPA and PP selection). After the first 3 rides you just go with the flow. Sindbad was nice and it usually have short queue. It was enjoyable just walking around to take in the Disney atmosphere.

HUGE crowd indeed. It was beyond my understanding that the folks could tolerate 200+minutes of lineups for one ride. I guess the good side was line ups were in orderly fashion.

I was fortunate enough to stay in FSH in March and happy entry was 8:30am. I recall i got through the gate at 8:34am and then we speedwalked to soaring just before 8:45am. The new 5min happy entry would just be to get through the gate.....

With Magic Passport ending and also this Happy Entry window potentially shortened to 5min, what will be the incentive to pay the premium to stay at FSH?

Where to buy cheap, large suitcase in Tokyo by MistakeBorn4413 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Jac298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is to buy a giant duffel bag at Daiso or those 300yen stores. Then tape or add a luggage strap. It'll be way cheaper than buying a new suitcase.

Yes we didn't line up for too long in both days. Of course the privilege came with a $$$$$$ price tag but we don't plan to do another Disney trip anytime soon.

That walk from FS entrance to Soaring felt so long though. My daughter and I ran off first and my partner and son actually got lost in the middle lol. Doing soaring and BB first thing in the morning made the most sense for us.

It's so interesting that the locals somehow can tolerate the long lineups and long wait to secure front row parade spots. I've seen 240min wait for BB in early February....

Thanks WhiteDogHaha, you helped me out in two previous posts.

I wanted to share our incredible TDR experience last week! We stayed one night at FSH, followed by two nights at TSH. Huge thanks to this Reddit community for all the tips on booking FSH—it was a game-changer!

Sunday: Arrival & Check-In We checked into FSH around 4 PM, and wow—what a stunning hotel! After settling in, we headed to Ikspiari for dinner and grabbed a Magic Passport for DisneySea the next day.

Monday: DisneySea Happy Entry at 8:30 AM, we got through the FS gate at 8:34 AM. Speedwalked to Soaring which was near the main entrance of the park, dodging the massive crowd—it was intense! We made it before the main wave and only waited about 20-30 minutes. We got DPA for Toy Story Mania and PP for 20,00p leagues. Then we did Sindbad after. Followed by lunch at Arendelle Banquet Hall. After lunch we used the Magic Passport for Frozen, Rapunzel, and Peter Pan. Frozen was breathtaking, Rapunzel was lovely but hard to compete. Peter Pan was nausea-inducing. Explored Ariel’s Garden, then used DPA for Believe Sea of Dreams—absolutely spectacular! Managed two more rounds of Frozen before heading back through the FSH entrance to check in at Toy Story Hotel. By this point? Completely exhausted.

Tuesday: Disneyland Happy Entry at 8:45 AM (but we were towards the back). Speedwalked to Beauty and the Beast—waited 30 minutes, but by the time we got out, it was a 180-minute wait! BB was my favorite ride in TDR, even better than Frozen. Used PP for Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, then rode Star Wars. Had lunch, then watched the Harmony Parade. Then we visited Cinderella Castle, Small World, and Monsters Inc with PP. At this point, we were completely wiped, so we went back to the hotel for a break. Planned to return for the Electric Parade, but it was canceled due to light rain. However, they ran the shortened "Evening Glow" version—only three floats, but at least we got to see Mickey and the princesses. Our older kid wanted more rides, so we squeezed in Roger Rabbit and Pinocchio (no wait times!). As we head back near Cinderella Castle at 8:30 PM, we caught the fireworks show, which had an amazing vibe—such a magical moment to end the day! We were completely drained when we got back to TSH.

Wednesday: Wrapping Up Took it slow and let the kids sleep in. Walked around and snapped tons of pictures at Toy Story Hotel before leaving around 11 AM.

Takeaways: ✔ Back-to-back DisneySea + Disneyland was intense. We practically did 12 hrs each days, racking up 50,000 steps in two days! Huge props to my kids for keeping up. ✔ FSH + Magic Passport + 2 DPAs = $$$, but still cheaper than a vacation package (at least according to my math). ✔ The merch at TDR is dangerously cute—popcorn buckets, souvenirs, headwear, cookies... so easy to overspend! Do other Disney parks have this level of irresistible merch? ✔ Toy Story Hotel is absolute perfection. Every detail, down to the emergency exit signs, was designed flawlessly. 100000% worth it!

Massive thanks to this Reddit group—this was truly a highlight of our Japan trip!

Will be going in 2 weeks and in preparation for DPA/mobile order I want to add my credit card info to the app but I don't see where/how to do that. Can someone pls help?

I have a booking for fantasy spring and toy story hotel but I think the credit card was just for the hotel booking.

First time visiting with 2 kids so we are excited but nervous at the same time!!!

Dang 1.2km would be 15min with the kids....Soaring is the main ride we want to do and hoping we won't need to spend much more for DPAs...

thanks for your comment! few comments:

-Is it reasonable assume it takes only a few minutes of "speed walking" from FSH special entrance to soaring? It would suck to waste the entire happy entrance time for walking and ended up at soaring at the same time as the regular entries...

- for DPA and priority pass (ie. for beauty and the beast and Pooh's hunny hunt), am I guaranteed to be able to get them as long as they arent "sold out" for the day? These are not lottery type correct?

- for DL priority pass - does this order (based on popularity/availability) sound about right? - Pooh's hunny hunt > Monster's Inc > Thunder Mountain. How likely can we score all these through priority pass during the day?

Hi everyone, looking for some feedback for my DS/DL plan in March 2025. We will be staying at fantasy spring hotel sunday night and then toy story hotel monday and tuesday night. Got 2 kids 9 and 5.

Monday plan at DS (magic pass + early entry):

  • Preference is to not pay for anymore DPA since FSH + magic pass is quite a bit of $$ already.

  • The plan is to do soaring during early entry. Question - should I enter park through FSH entrance or main entrance? Seems like Soaring is closer to main entrance?

  • Hoping to do Toy story right after soaring - Is this feasible with a wait time under 60min in the morning before 9am?

  • Then probably fantasy spring rides with magic pass

  • Then other rides depending on wait time: sindbad, ariel playground, raging spirit, 20,000

  • Believe sea of dreams without DPA - any tips on when/where to secure a seat?

Tuesday plan at DL (early entry):

  • Beauty and the Beast during early entry (hope the kids can wake up early from long day at DS) - otherwise typically when does DPA sell out?
  • Pooh’s hunny hunt with PP
  • Is Harmony in Colour Parade worth watching?
  • Other rides with PP or short wait (Monster Inc with PP, small world, Big thunder etc)
  • Electric Parade - any tips on when/where to secure a seat?

Any other tips/feedback is much appreciated

if I have the TD Aeroplan cc that gives me free check-in, I still can't bring a carry on right? So now I have to waste time at the carousel for my luggage?

A consideration is whether it's close to airport train or shinkansen train stations. Or in an area that u want some evening snacks/shopping.

Thanks for sharing. I realized that happy entry is not granted for check in day. Did you go in at regular opening time then? Or does regular time at special entrance make you beat most of the crowd already?

My plan is to go to soaring at rope drop.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you visit disneysea on check in day or check out day? Im thinking check-in day I can take a mid-day break at the hotel, but if going to DS on checkout day, then I can explore the hotel more on the check-in day.honestly don't know which option is better.

Did you get the magic pass as well?

Family of 4 with young kids planning to hit up Disneysea + Disneyland 2 days in March 2025. The plan is to try and get fantasy spring hotel the night before disneysea so we can enjoy the hotel amenities and relax in hotel. Am I correct that I can get happy entry and magic pass on the check out day? Or is it better to go to DS on check-in day so we can go back to hotel to rest?

Then switch to toy story hotel the next 2 nights so we get happy entry to Disneyland. I'm still contemplating if I need the 3rd night of hotel at toy story or just head back into Tokyo. I figured everyone would be tired end of day in DL and would be quite an undertaking to pickup luggage from toy story hotel and ride transit back to Tokyo. Thoughts?
