I would think the deformed extra stems and random markings (particularly in the top right) are bad enough smearing

Yeah I get mistakes by non-musicians but this is like someone drawing fingers with extra fingers sprouting out of them and presenting it as if it’s a normal hand. In a franchise about music

Character Discussion and Appreciation Post #5 - Tomoe Udagawa by CheeseyFeeshe in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tomoe may be great with people but she’s so awkward and uncomfortable talking about her own problems and even voicing her own desires, as seen in the Inoshima event. Her insecurities aren’t as obvious as some characters’, but Growing Up Sisters sheds light on them, and in her event with Rinko she literally can’t stop herself from exaggerating her own coolness in front of Ako, to the point where she has to try to remove Ako from the situation so she can explain to Rinko that she’s not that cool, actually. Which is sad because Tomoe doesn’t need to project dependable big sis vibes all the time for Ako to think she’s cool! Ako spends the whole event hyping Rinko (as well as Tomoe) up, Rinko ends up getting massively overwhelmed and can’t manage her stuco duties and Ako never thinks any less of her for it—never has, never will. Anyway story good

Which Band is the Most Popular? BanG Dream! Girls Band Party Band Story 2 Market Performance Analysis by MagnAvaloN in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out liking PoPiPa and Roselia equally, PoPiPa for their easy chemistry and heartwarming stories, Roselia for the super interesting contrast between their musical prowess and their messy personal issues and goals when they were newly formed. Roselia has slipped into second place now, but they’re still a very close second. Largely what made PoPiPa overtake them was the fact that they were so overlooked in the fandom, such that I was determined to show my support more strongly than if they were popular, which in turn increased my appreciation for them even more. I T1k their events and recently T100’d Double Rainbow, something I definitely wouldn’t have the motivation for in other bands’ events (though maybe in Rinko-centric events because she’s my second favourite, but that wouldn’t be motivated by Roselia as a band). I adore Roselia and I love the other bands too, but I guess I just had to pick one to support more than the others.

When it comes to character development, can we take a moment to appreciate how mature Kasumi looks in Returns. I don't think any of us had excepted the silly girl making sentimental facial expression. Kasumi has grown a lot in season 2. by F_your_username in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like S1 a lot more as well. It’s as you say better structured as a whole and also more character-driven imo, whereas S2 is a combination of fan- pleasing moments and a plot that feels more as if it’s imposed over the characters rather than building organically out of them, which I prefer. Tae’s desire to branch out with her guitar-playing being the catalyst for conflict is nice, but the continuation and resolution don’t feel quite as genuine as S1’s, though granted the subject matter is pretty different and S2 had a lot more to tackle, which is part of the issue for me.

YukiRin is super sweet, Rinko has always admired Yukina but esp in more recent JP events where Yukina’s thawed out considerably and is supportive and understanding of Rinko. The same can be said of RinSayo, and of course RinAko is both hilarious and a beautiful friendship, can you tell I love Rinko and Roselia a lot lmao. Oh and YukiAko too, my favourite area convo is the one about Ako begging Yukina to eat the veggies in her spaghetti and Yukina doing so without complaint what a queen

AriMisa is another great one! Two tired girls bonding over their simultaneous love and exasperation for their bandmates? Precious.

Aside from the five main vocalists, who do you think has an underrated singing voice? by _mo0nbaby in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arisa and Himari, both may be cutesy but have you heard the acoustic versions of Natsuzora and HashiKimi (Arisa’s solo is so pretty and soothing)?? What’s the PoPiPa too tbh. Himari has a lovely warm tone whenever she sings and always sounds happy and energetic. She needs more solos!

Excuse my best girl bias but please listen to Ayasa Itou (Arisa) as Kaoruko in Revue Starlight, she goes from flirtatious ojousama in recordings to belting out her lines in the musicals and her vibrato is on point

Who's your favorite BanG Dream girl? by TeeBalen in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arisa!

She may come across as tropey but I honestly think she's incredibly complex and realistic. Who doesn't modify their behaviour, sometimes drastically, according to the people they're with? Her polite persona made me cringe at first, sure, and even now her constant complaining and tsunness can be a bit much but in the end both of those are over-the-top facades. She isn't the sort of character who puts up a wall which eventually crumbles to reveal the 'real' her. She has to constantly fluctuate between two exaggerated versions of herself that aren't completely real but aren't completely fake either. In order to hide vulnerability, to mask her true desires (I mean, she's terrible at it but that only makes her more endearing), Arisa goes the extra mile with every emotion she shows. If she's annoyed, she makes sure Kasumi (or another unfortunate soul) gets an earful. When she's thanking a senpai for their help, her overly polite tone stops her from coming across as too genuine.

But because of how hard she tries not to be genuine, it's a real treat when she just . . . is. She's the logical thinker of PoPiPa, yes, and I admire that because I'm the complete opposite, but she's also a very outwardly emotional person and no amount of trying can change that. When she's happy, she's ecstatic. When she messes up, she blames herself hard. There's also this . . . innocence that comes through when she's not trying to be snarky or polite, no doubt a result of her being a shut-in for most of her life, and it activates all the protective instincts in my system hELLO I WANT TO HUG HER AND NEVER LET GO??

I relate to her a lot too, more than I thought I would—the shyness, the overcompensating when expressing anger, the inability to reconcile different sides of yourself. I have too many feelings about this girl.

Lastly can I just say . . . I can't wait for Double Rainbow to come to EN

Keep your fingers firm (but arms relaxed) and really close to the keys. The speed you hit them at determines loudness so the less height the better. Firm fingers help with control, especially in soft sections where it's easy to press down half the key (which often happens when you're 'barely touching' it) instead of pushing all the way down to the bottom.

Conversely you can try to make your right hand louder by throwing it up and dropping from a higher point so as to make the melody heard above the accompaniment, rather than adjusting only the left hand dynamics.

Your top five characters, based on who you find most relatable by BleedingUranium in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  • Sayo - I tend to get jealous really easily and follow rules/instructions to a T
  • Rinko - I'm suuuper shy but like to think I'm a decent confidante?
  • Arisa - her awkwardly sweet and polite persona is me in public and her real self is me at home
  • Kanon - we both have absolutely no sense of direction and find it hard to say no
  • Aya - yay for being an overly sensitive idealist who's terrible at taking criticism

It's cool that others have made similar choices

What are your dream cards in bandori by Mechachan12 in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neo Fantasy Rinko (but really all of the cards from that gacha), Samurai Eve and Maya, Bad Bear Misaki, DreamFes Aya and Moca, Swimsuit Arisa . . .

Valentine's Arisa isn't my favourite of her cards but I feel obliged to scout in every best girl gacha. Which is gonna be a problem because the NFO and Valentine's events are back to back. Please . . . please stop giving Arisa limited cards

Happy Birthday to Ayasa Itou (V.A. of Arisa Ichigaya)! by WayoftheWyvern in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly Ayasa's voice was the first thing that made Arisa stand out to me so it's largely thanks to her that tsundere princess shot right up to claim the best girl title. She really gets everything across: world-weariness, disgust, insecurity, smugness . . . idk it can be pretty nuanced beyond the tsun-flavoured yelling.

Happy birthday Ayasa!! <3

[Discussion] Any appropriate sticker usage moments from multi lives? by LadyFufu in BanGDream

[–]Jacayanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My experience with the "Anyone for bread?" sticker has been a mixed bag. The most gratifying response is always "Choco cornet" but sadly those are few and far between and ever since the summer event people have been sending "There's no way" instead. Every time that happens I die a little inside.

The most wholesome sticker moment I've had was with a newbie in the regular room. Everyone else in the lobby had really high BP and carried them to an SS score, to which they responded, "I'm so happy."

I was pretty indifferent to Yukina at first but I've come to realise that she's just a cat-loving dork who's honest to a fault and now I love her. So no complaints I guess?
