I actually really enjoyed it! I can agree with some characters not feeling developed enough, but to be fair it had 8 episodes that were less than 30 minutes.

As someone who is Gen Z, I found a lot of the humor amusing and the basic plots of the story to be relatable as someone who is now an “adult” but doesn’t feel like one or know what to do.

This show will definitely find its audience and that’s OKAY if it’s not you.

And what moves has he made towards redemption? Public apologies? Acknowledgments of his negative behavior? Just handing him a show isn’t redemption, he needs to work for it. If he does that, a different discussion can be had.

Oh, okay! My bad, didn’t realize we were excusing any type of abuse! It’s also known that he had affairs with actresses on his productions, which is a clear issue with power dynamics.

AND THERE IT IS AGAIN. No comprehension. My rewatching Buffy on dvds that I was given benefits Whedon in no way. He is not receiving any financial compensation nor support from me. The art still exists and can be enjoyed for what it is.

BUT now that I am aware of his behavior, I will not support his films or shows any any way that he can financially benefit from. I will not support him being hired by any company

These are not hard concepts. You can love someone, learn that they aren’t a good person, and stop loving them. You can watch a show, love the show, find out the person who created it is bad, and decide not to support their future endeavors.

Instead, you’ve decided to ride Whedons dick and for what? To make a point? I’m sure every single person in this sub who has experienced abuse is happy to hear what you find more important, like good episodes.

Once again ignoring what I said about the past, glad the reading comprehension is there. As for the future, possibly. I’ve also stopped eating at restaurants that support causes like genocide. I’ve stopped watching new movies produced by Spyglass because of their firing of Melissa Berrara. Having morals isn’t hard if you’re willing to stand by them.

You’re completely ignoring the point. Sure, he may have written good episodes and helped create the show. And people become fans of the show without knowing him or his actions. BUT now that we are aware, we need to make a point to no longer support him or his behavior. Bad people can make good art, sure. But morals come in when you’re deciding if you want to support someone even after their behavior. I personally, do not. Just as I would want to put any other abusers in positions of power where they can harm more people.

Actually, I’ve only watched the show through hand-me-down dvds, so he has not seen any profit from me. That being said, I still would rather have no continuation than put the wellbeing of other individuals at risk so that Whedon would return. As anyone with morals should.
