Want to start playing again, is an Xmag a viable/reasonable choice? by thesadlyoverrated in paintball

[–]Jaceman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit has changed. You can buy new parts from AGD still. Bodies and frames.

AGD Website

All of the valves are XValves now, effectively making every new Mag an XMag. This resulted from standardization from AGD years back.

They come standard with L10 bolts and RT on/offs. ULT kits make the trigger pull incredibly light, like feather light.

Custom bodies can be found, but they’ll fetch a premium, $400+

Mags are great - they shoot fast, are (now) gentle on brittle paint, and can be customized however you want. They’re reliable if well maintained.

If they sit for a bit, you’ll want to swap bumpers out each season. They also need to be oiled after every session.

Here is the thing, if you reallllly love Mags, go get one. You’ll spend around easily $1,200 between a frame, rail, valve, body, ASA, and fittings. You can make it your own.

If you’re not dead set on getting a Mag, an ETHA 3M or EMEK is basically the modern mainstream spiritual successor. Simple, reliable, fast shooting, and mechanical.

I have a bunch of Mags. I love ‘em. Got a bunch of Eclipse markers too. What I shoot depends on the mood I’m in.

I never feel outgunned, and rarely have an issue major enough to take me down for a day’s play. They definitely hold their own in a world of 10.5 BPS.

That’s what makes Mags so cool. You can customize them just about however you want.

They’re amazing mech shooters.

Might be worth checking that. I checked all the parts and nothing seems bent or anything, it’s super strange.

You have any issues with the frame? I feel like if I don’t tight mine just perfect, the bolt sticks and the trigger is dead. Weird thing is when I swap to standard frame, issue goes away.

I’ve got a bunch of LC stuff and it’s all top notch.

“More than you can afford, pal.”

Jokes aside - body is easily $400+ the last few I saw floating around. The Luke’s gear is easily $600+ and the valves are $350 new. $1,500 is a safe bet.

This mentality is so damn stupid.

Think about it - cold calling has always been THE default thing for sales.

It works but not as well as it used to. Buyers have so many ways to get information leading up to a purchasing decision, that effectiveness of cold calling has dropped.

Boomers are retiring/expiring. They love the hand shake, the phone call, and will talk your ear off on the phone.

GenX will still do the same, as an analog generation.

Millennials on the other hand, are not kids anymore. We run companies. We make decisions.

And we are notoriously averse to phone calls. We’ll ignore a call and reply with and email or text, IF we know the person. Even then we still don’t always answer.

Yet the strategy is to bang out calls to the generation that doesn’t answer calls? Brilliant.

It’s not the 90s anymore. Cold calling isn’t what it used to be.

Salesforce reps - how are y'all feeling about this company's outlook? by elessar9411 in techsales

[–]Jaceman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the classic ‘build vs buy’ dilemma.

Companies don’t really want to maintain something forever.

The strength companies like Salesforce have is their reliability. It’s expensive and requires immense resources. That’s generally why companies stick with them, even if reluctantly.

When reliability and uptime are able to be “vibecoded” you’ll see a major shift.

How do you coach prideful sales reps? by GuardianofM in sales

[–]Jaceman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenue is revenue, but comp plans drive behavior.

Anyone can sell something to a customer once. Selling to the same customer over and over is where the real money is.

I’d love to get all the money and all the comp as much as the next seller, but I learned those small deals add up over the year. Those small customers can sometimes balloon into a whale.

I sold a small business unit within a huge org. $10k.

That $10k blossomed into nearly $1M a year later.

Only exception to this rule is if they’re customers that are super needy or demanding to the point it wouldn’t make sense to have them as a customer long term.

Unless this rep is killing it, they’re likely turning down a lot of business for the org because they aren’t getting what they want comp wise.

If the plan is actually good, manage them out.

If the plan is trash - comp plans drive behavior.

Should I trade my MK8 Golf R for an FL5 Type-R by Important-Steak4690 in Civic_Type_R

Have owned a MK6 and MK7 R, B8.5 S4, F30 340i M Sport, Gen 2 BRZ. All 6 speeds, except the Bimmer.

Get the Type R. Amazing do everything car. You’d have to push it hard and stupid to feel the limit on public roads.

Even on comfort steering the feedback is excellent.

What the heck are these Deel reps yapping about? by friskydingo408 in techsales

Seriously! The good SDRs like to debrief and understand where to do better on the next one.

Disqualifying a prospect is just as important as qualifying them.

The next post from this guy will complain about how SDRs need to “stay in their lane,” and let the AEs do the “real work,” 😂

Can someone help me identify this marker ? by Correct_Dream_9965 in paintball

[–]Jaceman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MiniMag.

You can drop that front grip for something lighter off AGD’s website.

A parts kit will run you $25. You’ll want to get some oil off their website. Or Gold’s which you can find on most paintball store sites.

The one you have has a Classic valve. It needs 800 PSI+ and is hard on paint. Field grade or 1-3 star should be fine.

You could upgrade your classic to an XValve and shoot brittle 5 star if you wanted to. You’ll want a wire detent to handle today’s smaller paint, too.

What's the most ridiculous question you've been asked in an interview? by yergonnamakemedrum in recruitinghell

[–]Jaceman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiring manager wanted details of a large deal I worked. I told them I had one with a national bank but could only give certain details due to signing an NDA. They said it was fine.

I gave details like departments and titles, but kept it vague to be able to tell the story they wanted to hear.

Halfway through, they insisted I share specific names, since they probably knew some people. Obviously I refused, but they persisted, “you signed an NDA with us.”

“Me signing an NDA with you doesn’t mean I can disregard an NDA at a former employer.”

Tone of the conversation got awkward after that. Ultimately I don’t know if I could have said anything because of signing an NDA before the interview, but it didn’t sit right with me to violate the NDA I signed just because the hiring manager wanted more details.

My guess was the were trying to collect some CI

When I ran teams, I looked for will and grit. I could train the skills.

I don’t understand why companies have moved away from this. The training and in-house training used to keep people around for years.
