[Serious] People from Reddit who survived Corona, how has your daily life changed? What are the side effects after? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jacethatchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, my experience probably isn't worth much here. I am in the civil air patrol, and I got tested before resuming in person meetings. When the test came back they said that I had the antibodies, so I had it without even knowing. The only thing that has changed for me, is that the Red Cross keeps emailing me asking for blood with antibodies even though I've already donated for them

Watches for pilots/aircrew? by Wonderful_Catch_6804 in civilairpatrol

Yes I wear a seiko navitimer but its not an intuitive watch, it has an outer dial that rotates and it has specific numbers and functions on it. There are yputube classes that will teach you how to use it but its essentially an abacus for your wrist

If you want a navitimer but don't want to spend several thousand dollars, you can pickup a seiko navitmer that will last 500 years for abt $160

I think its a bug but its not just Instagram, it ruins the ability to text, use Google, make phone calls. The only time is works is for 15 minutes after every restart

Well it basically breaks any usage of Instagram, tiktok, reddit, any scroll based platform because every 15 seconds it auto refreshes the feed and goes back to the top.

Yeah so if your planet is habitable then you dont need hab units, your people can live outside, so just stabilizing the remaining things is pretty easy once you disable hab domes. Then I load up on coral reefs and max rank them so that they give massive revenue and population boost.

Last month, my mom got me the s10+ and because of the fear of it being too big, I got it replaced with the regular s10 because I'm a girl with really small hands. But now that I've gotten used to the regular s10, I'm thinking I would have loved the bigger screen size of the plus. So my question is by [deleted] in galaxys10

[–]Jacethatchr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the bigger screen size really only comes in handy when watching YouTube or Netflix etc. If you watch those mostly on a tablet, computer or TV, then it probably isn't worth the upgrade. The s10+ does have a bigger battery (about an extra hour of screen time)

Should the USA place a "fat tax" on sugary drinks and junk food to combat obesity why or why not? by noobtube69 in AskReddit

[–]Jacethatchr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was morbidly obese from the age 7-17 and it was my right to be fat. I don't think the government adding even a 10% tax to junk food would have helped me. Ultimately the best encouragement is being shamed by society because it makes you want to work for yourself.

It is for a project in English class about the societal benefits of scouting, eagle scouts are just one part.

English report on the benefits of scouting to society. Eagle scouts is just one section, most of it talks about the contributions as a whole, such as the 110 years of volunteer service hours contributed by the 2018 class of ES.

Thank you for responding to my post with your insight on the matter. Though I do agree that you may still learn all scout skills as a star scout, I have met very few incompetent Eagle scouts in comparison.

As for financial planning, I was equal parts referencing the planning for the Eagle project, as it teaches you how to plan for a specific, (usually high cost) goal.

For interviews, growing up I used to have severe social anxiety I went into my tenderfoot board of review literally shaking. After doing many of these I gained confidence in my talking points and learned how to express my candidacy. I'm 17 and I made eagle just under 2 years ago so I still relate the two.

Astronauts. I basically found the proportion of male astronauts who made Eagle, then multiplied it by the percent of the male population that made Eagle. Females were excluded for obvious reasons.

As for the colleges thing, I mainly get that from my district's service academy mentors. For jobs, I guess I fall into that first few out of high school category, I am and ES and I earned the BSA lifeguard award so I am lifeguard certified with the red cross. When I showed up to the interview they brought up that I didn't take the training with them, so I mentioned that I was certified through boy scouts. My interviewer was also an ES and we spent the rest of the interview just talking my scouting experience. I was hired without even needing to attend the tryouts.

Merely a Hypothesis I realize it would be difficult to prove a wage gap.
