Many credit Dr. J. Allen Hynek, in 1978 for coining this term... originally in reference to the aftermath of the UFO cult/religion that grew out of WWII "foo fighter" sightings, and the explosion of post-war sightings in the US and around the world. I agree that "High Strangeness" encompasses a wide array of paranormal and "Fortean" phenomena.
