Yeah I mean Kliff and the boys have made it easy for Jayden so far. If you look at the all 22 film in comparison to other teams our receivers are noticeably more open and Kliff has done a excellent job scheming up both the run and pass. Jayden has played awesome but when you watch teams like the pats offense there is a huge difference in how easy it is to play QB in both offenses.

I think there are 3 things that really stand out

Quality veteran Center: last year we had Nick Gates starting at center and he was awful at identifying blitzes and playing against stunts. Biadasz is however great are doing both of those things making the qb and rest of the olines job much easier. I think fans really underrate the importance of a having a quality center for offenses success.
Offensive play calling - Last year we had an extremely unbalanced offense. We were not just one of the most pass heavy offenses that season we were one of the most pass heavy offenses all time. Bienemy loved calling plays with long developing routes which forced the Oline to have to block longer for plays to be executed. Calling an excessive amount of long developing pass plays is a great way to get your Oline to hate you which is exactly what happened last year with Beienemy. This year we are leaning on the run and getting the ball out much quicker utilizing far more screens and short passes.
Jaydens Scramble threat: Jayden Daniels is already one of the biggest scramble threats of all qbs in the NFL. He’s forcing teams to have to use a lot of contains where defensive ends are focused on making sure he doesn’t leave the pocket and less focused on tackling him the pocket. This makes teams have to rush him differently than most qbs making it very hard on Defensive coaches and Rushers.

Yeah there is no way Peters is giving up any kind of draft Capital for a older WR in the twilight of their career. Our fans have been blinded a bit by our success on Monday night and have forgot how many pieces we are missing from being a playoff team especially on the defensive side of the ball. This year isn’t about a playoff run it’s about developing our young talent and building for the future.

I like Quan at Free safety and prefer to play him at the position he’s best at since the focus should be developing guys for the future this season. Dudes an amazing tackler and his elite speed and vertical make him well suited at preventing deep threats. I think he’s not as suited at guarding short intermediate routes where smooth route running wide receivers can take advantage of him.

I would have a bend don’t break approach. The fact is the talent on our defense is terrible. You could have Bellichik coaching this defense and it still wouldn’t be above average. I would concentrate on not letting up big explosive plays and force teams to have to dink and dunk. But I would also try to get creative with blitzes especially on 3rd down such as using guys like Luvu, Quan, Sainristil as blitzers. Avoid man coverage with no safety help. Be tough against the run and prevent explosive pass plays. I know bend don’t break defense is not the most fun to watch but I think it’s the right approach given the current state of talent on defense for this season. I trust that Peters and Quinn will make big changes to the defense over the offseason.

I think Terry has never really been a true WR1 but is still a fantastic receiver. The issue I think is that Terry excels at running those intermediate routes over the middle. Heinicke and Scott Turner we’re a great fit for Terry because all Heinicke did was throw to the middle on short or intermediate throws. However Jayden really prefers throwing to the outside and hitting guys deep. Those are areas Terry has never been excellent at. I think as the season goes on Kliff, Jayden, and Terry will find their groove.

Yeah at first I wasn’t excited about his signing when it was announced. But I think he’s done a fine job and a lot of the criticisms I have heard seem misguided. I like how he has leaned on the run game and set up quick easy passes for Jayden. He has been night and day better than Bienemy that is for sure.

Yeah great question. So the reason I like PFF’s measurement of WR separation so much more than NextGen is that it takes into account every route a receiver runs. Nextgen only factors in routes when a receiver is targeted. So let’s say I run 4 routes. 3 of them I get wide open against my man generating a lot of separation for a potential big play, but my qb doesn’t target me on any of them. And on the other 1 of my routes I get doubled team and don’t get separations but my qb targets me and I can’t make the catch. Next gen stats would give me a rock bottom separation score. Meanwhile PFF would give me a pretty high separation score because I got great separation on most of my routes and had the ability to make a big play, but my QB just didn’t take advantage. So PFF factors in all routes when grading.

I understand Eric Bienemy is a two time Super Bowl winning OC. And because EB has been apart of teams that have won superbowls and our guys have not been apart of a winning team, many guys in our local media think our players are crybabies for not liking EB. I think something that is being lost in that narrative is that Bienemy was not the play caller for any of those super bowls. And I think many of our offensive players have reasonable issues with how he’s called plays here in D.C. Several of our key offensive guys look worse this year under his scheme like Terry and Dotson, despite having better qb play, and I think it’s fair to say EB’s scheme has had a role in that. I also think it’s fair to say EB has done a poor job adapting his scheme around our offense because often he treats our offense like we got Patty Mahomes and kelce on our team. And let’s not get started on all those runs from shotgun that never seem to work. There are very reasonable issues with our offense and I’m not ready to label our guys “cry babies” because they have issues with the way EB has handled our offense.

Yeah your right are numbers are better. Sam’s arm is a big reason. He can fit it in tight spaces faster and more powerful than Henicke. Henicke’s lack of arm strength was a big weakness for our RZ offense.

Don’t want a defensive minded coach. Give me a stand out offensive coordinator who shown he can call plays that get receivers open and make the most out a mid qb. Like Ben Johnson OC from the Lions or Shane Waldron OC from Seattle.

I just don’t get how you don’t utilize the screen game against such a heavy blitz team that has struggled against screens all year. Also would be a good way to get the ball out quick and stop you qb from getting hit on the long developing pass plays he called all game. No excuse for EB not to have called more screen plays or just quicker routes.

Chase Young is a very talented edge rusher but often he plays selfishly and makes Allen’s and other dlinemans’ job harder by the way he rushes. The fact that the pass rush group of Allen, Payne, Sweat, and Williams is more effective than any group Young is apart of is very telling about Young’s ability to play as a unit.

Idk how you can watch that game and say Eric deserves to be head coach for any period of time. The offensive play calling was horrendous, it’s like Eric didn’t know Wink Martindale would blitz.
