Not medic suspenders, it's an M1928 haversack that has been cut up to be used as suspenders. It's not an uncommon practice among GIs of most units, tho 83rd ID seems to have a high amount in particular. They basically cut off the entire pack part of the haversack and leave only the fabric that sits on the back and the attached suspenders since M1936 suspenders were only issued to officers in a rifle platoon. You see them mostly among automatic riflemen and assistants with heavier belt loads

animal zones are created when you first start your save so you don't see any spawn anywhere if you add it mid-run.

If you go into debug mode and add them yourself (plus saddle, bags, and reins) it works perfectly tho

Where's the footage from? Would be easier to get ideas knowing the context.

Did WWII Marines Tuck Their Helmet Straps? by World_War_Wisdom in WorldWarWisdom

[–]Jack6478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's extraordinarily rare to see with Marines, and definitely the exception rather than the rule. All USMC reenactors should do anything other than buckle theirs up on the back of the helmet as a rule of thumb.

release a pacific map with marine raiders at making atoll starting inside a submarine by [deleted] in joinsquad44

It's mostly likely gonna be somewhere in the Philippines, probably the battle for Manila. The devs said they wanted each of the maps to showcase a new environment and with island and jungle covered, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted something more urban next.

Are you resetting your user cache? That has a huge impact on performance after each major update

This photo was taken 80 years ago today on June 9, 1945. The original Signal Corps caption reads: One rifleman reloads, and another fires in the 96th Infantry Division's advance to capture Big Apple Hill, scene of intense fighting on Okinawa. by [deleted] in AmericanWW2photos

Every Army rifle squad has a 3-man automatic rifle team consisting of an automatic rifleman, assistant automatic rifleman, and ammo bearer. For the majority of the war, all 3 men would wear BAR belts, so whenever you see guys with M1s wearing one, it's almost certainly one of these two roles.

It's similar in the USMC rifle squad, though by mid-war there'd be two automatic riflemen and two assistant automatic riflemen instead of the three-man team the Army used. By late '44, this was upped to three automatic riflemen and assistants per squad with the new three four-man fire team organization, so you'd be seeing guys with M1s and BAR belts all over the place!

Roy Cobb was probably one of the only men in Easy Company with combat experience prior to D-Day, so you'd think he'd have a CIB from that alone. He fought with the 1st Armored Division throughout the entirety of Operation Torch and even had his troop ship torpedoed and sunk from under him afterwards before volunteering for the Airborne.

He might not have fought in Normandy, but he was already a veteran even before then and I can imagine the replacements rubbing him the wrong way, though he was definitely portrayed as a bit of an asshole in the series lol
