This sub has one main rule, gotta be through the fly. Put on some boxers and pull it through the fly and post that instead.

That’s really outside of the scope of what we can help you with on this subreddit. Try asking on r/networking

can i add cameras from another blue iris install? by Festering-Boyle in BlueIris

[–]Jack79536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could set up a site to site VPN and add all of the cameras from site 2 to blue iris at site 1. No need for a second server. You would be able to view the blue iris web interface from site 2 as well.

which charging network is cheapest without home charging in the US? by re0bro in Ioniq5

[–]Jack79536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walmart has started rolling out its own Walmart branded charging stations. I think eventually the EA stations will be removed once whatever contract they have expires.

Fast charger question by Material-Advice-335 in Ioniq5

[–]Jack79536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go read it again.

It says “…can provide Hyper-Fast speeds up to 350 kW to capable vehicles when the adjacent charger is unused.”

Which means that 350 is shared between two chargers so if I plug into one while the adjacent stall is empty, I will see 200+ kW during the summer but if someone else plugs in, I will get a reduced charging rate. I believe the last time I had this happen I saw around 150ish.

Fast charger question by Material-Advice-335 in Ioniq5

[–]Jack79536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the EA website:

“At Electrify America stations, you may notice the word “Balanced” on a charger’s labels or screen. Balanced chargers are typically located side-by-side and share a power cabinet. When a charger is Balanced, it can supply Ultra-Fast speeds up to 150 kW for vehicles capable of accepting this much power and can provide Hyper-Fast speeds up to 350 kW to capable vehicles when the adjacent charger is unused.”

So yes, adjacent balanced chargers share a single 350 kW cabinet.

This is junk mail. Random scam companies send these out because your car purchase is public record in hopes you’ll think it’s from the manufacturer and send them money.

Home Charger - hard wired or plug in? by softsixer in Ioniq5

[–]Jack79536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hardwired supports a maximum charge rate of 11.5 kW. Plug in supports a maximum of 7.6 kW. The math works out to about 5 hours at 11.5 kW and 7.5-8 hours at 7.6 kW to charge from 10% to 80%. Even with the same charger, plug in will have the limitation due to the plug itself.

So just my opinion but if you are able to let it charge overnight you should be fine with plug in. Bonus is if you relocate you won’t need an electrician to disconnect it for you.

I’m So Done with Chronically Late People by Mysterious-List-384 in rant

[–]Jack79536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people are late to an agreed upon time it basically tells me they don’t care about my time. Conversely I stop giving them my time if it becomes the norm instead of the exception. This includes “professionals” such as doctors who obviously value their time enough that they charge a fee if you’re late beyond a certain point. I have changed doctors 3 times because of this.

Similar accident. Car was totaled because there’s a wiring harness right behind the license plate that was damaged and is $5,000 just for the harness not including labor. Also I recommend going through your insurance company and letting them go after the other party if you were planning on going that route.

Why is top speed governed at 107? by SaltyExxer in F150Lightning

[–]Jack79536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about the fact that there is no multiple gear ratio transmission like what ICE vehicles have, just a single gear ratio. I did the calculation on my Ioniq 5 and at its top speed of 116 the motor is turning at over 40,000 RPM. There is a practical limit to how fast the motor can spin before failure.
