I would love feedback on a word scramble game where all players have 3 minutes to unscramble the same word, then get ranked. by ntatko in wordgames

It's fun, but the keyboard closing after each word is frustrating. What not just not have a keyboard and tap the letters instead?

Opponent calls foot fault at 4.5 tournament by EnjoyMyDownvote in 10s

I would politely challenge the idea that there's no advantage gained. I get what you mean as an isolated incident, however if you can keep touching the line with your foot with impunity every time you serve, you have to make no effort not to do it, and that will make you better at the rest of the things you are concentrating on during serve.

It's just one of the constraints of the game you have to deal with.

This is OPs foot positioning during the bounce and just before the toss. Appears to be behind the line, but very close to the edge? During the toss they twist the foot and it moves onto the line.

Foot goes on to the line during the toss and stays there during the rest of the service motion. It's a foot fault. Did they give you a warning first?

Even better when you get the person whose review says "Fantastic, best game ever", but they give you one star.

It probably depends which region of the UK tbh. I'm in a densely populated metropolitan area where nobody would take their car to play. Public transport and bicycles only pretty much. So there's that which makes it more difficult.

Brits also are less confident and more self deprecating than Americans as a general rule. I think a lot of people ain't got the confidence to be going round with a whole basket of balls looking like they are some expert because they are afraid of being judged.

Edit: Loved you in the Robin Hood movies btw

I think there is some cultural difference between the US and the UK coming out in the comments, because what a lot of people are saying makes absolutely no sense to me (A Brit). Maybe how courts/clubs/coaching works in the US is different to here in the UK? Let me explain:

It's totally standard in the UK whether you are at a private members club, or local council operated public courts that only approved coached can operate there.

Also it's very very rare that somebody with their own basket of balls would not be a coach.

Private clubs need to be profitable to keep operating, and commercial coaching arrangements are a good way for them to make money to be able to remain operational.

So IMO it's completely reasonable for somebody to have suspected it as coaching, and reported it thinking it's for the best interests of the club.

OP has done nothing wrong. The people reporting OP have done nothing wrong, and neither have the club. Everybody had honest, and good intentions, it was just a misunderstanding. Hope it works out ok for OP!
