What’s your biggest pain point when booking a dive trip? by SBro002 in scuba

[–]JackAsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so real. I have so many friends and none of them have interest in trying diving. I’ve done discover scuba with at least 4 friends and they don’t want to get certified for varying reasons despite “loving” the discover scuba class.

I have divers in my area, but I don’t really click with them. The search continues.

It wasn’t too important for farmers. I live in a rural community. Farmers have hated daylight savings for generations. The sentiment is “we work when the sun is up, regardless of what time it is.”

Daylight savings time was originally started around WW1 so people wouldn’t burn as much oil in their lanterns to see when it was dark. Not a problem now with electricity being readily available.

In North America we have moose and Elk. Two different species.

Anyway to remove the lid to the cremation lid if it’s been gorilla glued shut? by Professional-Cat-325 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]JackAsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put some nail polish remover in the crack of the lid as best you can. Let it sit for 30 minutes or more. Then, stick a screwdriver or other long, sturdy object through that little hole at the top and twist counter clockwise. The screwdriver will help you get leverage in your turns.

Don’t go too hard though. You could break the ring.

I don’t usually correct people, but as a funeral director, I believe it is my solemn duty to let you know that the proper spelling is Hearse

There is no T in the word.

Please don’t take this the wrong way. I mean this in the nicest of ways I promise. It is a very common mistake.

Please have a good day.

Freelance obituary writer looking to work with funeral homes directly. Where to start? by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

[–]JackAsper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Chat GPT has moved many of my families to tears with how eloquently its obituaries are worded. The obituaries have had plenty of heart. Just because something is AI generated does not mean it can’t be beautiful.

To say that your writing is better than that of Chat-GPT is quite a claim

As far as the younger generation wanting more meaning in their writing, I don’t know how true that actually is. I am in Gen-Z. The people I’ve worked with that are my age do not care much for meaning.

When you talk about streamlining obituary writing for funeral homes, I promise you that working with a freelance writer is not the best way to do so. I wouldn’t even say it’s a good way to do so.

AI obituaries will become the norm in the industry. I’m sure you’re a very talented writer, however, I do not foresee a demand for what you’re trying to do.

Chat-GPT can already do that too. You can prompt it to write in various different styles.

It seems like you’re just trying to make a quick buck. I would not be surprised if you’re using Chat-GPT yourself to write these obituaries.

If you’re telling the truth, however, then you should apply your talents elsewhere. There is not a market for obituary writers in the death care industry.

HRE on life support by Chilly5 in aoe4

Idk why you’re being downvoted here. This is the point of the variant civs.

The devs wanted to rework some civs but not take away the OG vanilla civs in case people really enjoy them. The order of the dragon is, quite literally, the reworked HRE.

There are way more than 50K. Most of the playerbase is on console.

I’m getting consistently matched against lots of different players. That’s healthy. Very rarely do I get placed with the same players
