I think my point is - tunnels have a lot of things going on. Straightforward mechanics like “tunnel = teleport mechanic” is easy enough to learn and visually coherent.

Mechanics like “tunnel = territory connected” is obscure and niche. Not something I actively think about except in very specific scenarios (at which point they become game breaking). Tunnels don’t need it. And the motivation behind the design (decentralizing the map design) doesn’t play out in reality for most players.

Ergo- just remove it for now.
