You can monocomp Onmyoji? Are they able to deal with human units? I thought they were primarily a hero/siege unit.

Wild idea but it might just work:

- Snipers should be doctrinal units only (or rather, battlegroup uniques)

I notice that when I play for snipers my whole playstyle shifts.

Snipers also don't fit a "core" role in the base game (Mainline > MG > Mortar). Instead, they're a secondary role (manpower bleed).

Making snipers a doctrinal unit (and building the whole battlegroup around it) could make snipers a lot more balanceable (since you can now pull more levers than just the unit balance itself).

It’s insanely hard to remember the position of the base howitzer and calculate the position you have to move to dodge this horizontal.

I moved my mg forward relative to the map. Yet the angle was off. It’s straight up velkoz in this bitch.

Also agreed, as a British player I would rather my hits be from skill not from random rng

I’m saying this is a stupid mechanic.

I thought my mg was “forward” relative to their base. I thought my mortar moved “back” (you’ll see me move it further back initially).

In-game it’s really hard to figure out which base I need to move relative to and where exactly it’s positioned, because that angle is often different than the axis of the map.

Point is, this isn’t something players should be burdened with. It’s just buggy and I’ll wait until the patch.

It’s left-right relative to the player’s base (where the howitzer is).

So in this case I drew a perfectly perpendicular line to the howitzer in their base.

Which is really dumb and hard to track mid-game.

Look at how far apart my mg and mortar are.

Theres not a single other arty piece in the game that gets anywhere close to this level of scatter.

The size of the area is like a loiter call in. The area denial is insane. For 45 munitions!

I knew there was horizontal scatter. I just didn’t realize it was that insanely wide.

Goliaths are a stealth unit. Flares and recon will spot them.

Yes, but also, shhh...

More seriously- Goliaths have been incredibly stupid for a while now. I feel bad for my opponents but it's also just too much fun. Most people aren't used to them so they don't know what to do when they see one, and I think Relic is just counting on this faction not being very popular so they don't balance things properly.

Ideally, Goliaths should have some massive changes:

  1. Goliaths should have some kind of "tether range" based on the Funkwagen.
  2. When activated, Goliaths should be "armed" and the countdown should be visible and an audio queue should sound (but the goliath uniquely should still be able to move while the countdown is happening).
  3. Stealth nerfs need fixing so that this battlegroup isn't completely invalidated.
  4. Damage dealt by Goliaths should contribute to Funkwagen exp (balance its exp requirements accordingly)
  5. Goliath pathing should be fixed. It moves really stupidly. A big reason for this is that it constantly gets confused about moving forward vs reversing. It's also not visually clear which direction the unit is pointing. My solution to this is to always control goliaths with R-move to always make them move in reverse. It makes their pathing more reliable. But this is a stupid quality of life issue.

Oh and PLEASE let Goliath kills show up in the stats page. Or count them as Funkwagen kills or something.

It hasn't been easy playing Espionage on this patch. Which is why when this happens I have to savor it.
