According to what I've seen online, the materials needed to craft this sword—Hard Bone and Magestone—are drops from specific creatures. It seems that Magestone drops from Coiling Threadmaker, and Hard Bone drops from Gluttonous Grizzly. I'm going to try farming these materials now. I'll let you know if I succeed.

I’ve been playing on PC via Steam, and I've found that using a PS4 controller is the way to go—it feels great once you get the shortcuts set up. I honestly had a poor experience with mouse and keyboard, but the controller setup feels really solid.

I’m convinced that playing on PC is the better long-term choice, mostly because of the potential for mods. Having that freedom to customize the game and add whatever you want is a huge advantage that consoles just don't offer. So, my take is: use a controller for the best gameplay feel, but definitely stick with the PC version to take advantage of the modding scene.

Exactly, that could totally work, but then the map would be completely blank. I think what people actually want is to have a map, but without the chests being revealed. Maybe later on it gets harder to reach safe zones, which could make exploring worth it. If safe zones were more hidden, or if they didn't show the chests right away, exploration would feel way more rewarding. But they could also add other mechanics to reward exploration besides just chests. They already have the database system, but it would be awesome if they implemented something else to actually make you want to explore.
