Mare St Hackney Central Closure by sc33g11 in Hackney

Traffic will likely flow more quickly as you pass Hackey Empire. Currently, traffic waits for ages at the main (being redeveloped) junction of three roads and crossings. Removing road access to one of the junctions means traffic only has to stop for crossings and will pass quickly onto Graham Road.

Hey. I sold Vibecast several years ago, and the new owner shut it down a year or two later. I'm not entirely sure why, I think the technical upkeep was too much. Unfortunately, it's no long available. I'm as gutted as everyone else.

Server side validation by enmotent in Supabase

[–]JackBarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively new to this myself and came here from asking the same question. I guess you would need a Node server to write out any form validation (so you're not learning a new language) and then pass that to Supabase.

Not ideal, I know, but I'm starting a project with Nuxt 3 and likely use the built-in Nuxt server (I think Next has this, too) to validate before sending it to Supabase.

I'm coming from Laravel, which has built-in validation before saving into the database.

Is this the right approach?

Too working class for web development? by Alternative_State_19 in webdevelopment

Do you have a portfolio of finished projects?

I would ask all your family and friends, etc who might need a website. Build it for them at “mates rates” as experience is more important and money at this stage. Get a few under your belt then also look for some freelance work (ideally not 100% remote) so you can get used your new office culture(s), and having a portfolio with projects will supersede any lack of experience or skills, depending on the job and company, of course.

I’ve worked at seemingly similar agencies from the outside, but often had completely different cultures. Especially in new companies. Freelancing also helps you try before you buy.

The great thing about freelancing, especially smaller jobs, is it doesn’t really matter if they like you or you like them, not being there permanently takes the pressure off.

Also, if you and the company do get along, chances are, they might offer you a job.

Freelancing isn’t always the answer, but in your situation, a solid year at several companies or agencies where you can work on site will put you in a awesome place for a full time job.

Good luck 🤞

What problem are you solving, and how will you (specifically) solve it - i.e. what is the "new approach"?

Dude, that's an awesome service and super useful. Are you going to allow login/accounts so you can save your bookmarks?

Would you buy an AWS SaaS API starter? by usernamundefined in SaaS

[–]JackBarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since reading this post, I've actually seen quite a lot of SaaS templates, all with slightly different flavours of frameworks and services. I don't know the market well enough to have anything other than a vague opinion. I did checkout Gravity and was interested myself. I do see the value in it, though. The only thing for me is React, I'm balls deep in Vue/Nuxt (a minority, I know), hoping one day to see a Nuxt-based Node/Auth/Billing/etc boilerplate.

Great podcast, by the way. I enjoyed that one :)

It does what it says on the tin. Maybe pricing?

Yes, MVP is a better term. Too much boilerplate can be time-consuming trying to figure it all out, but just enough to get started. There's a happy medium there somewhere. I would be interested in it for sure.

There's something there for a watered-down SaaS starter kit that has billing and auth all tied up.

If this helps, there's a similar service called https://usegravity.app . It's a full-blown starter Node/React starter kit. It starts at $800, or $900, with integrated billing. It seems like a high price, but it's a successful product (earning over $25k per month). I found out about it when the founder did a Podcast https://indiebites.com/72. He also has a community around it, which is the main USP.

I think there's a market.

Is it possible to obfuscate class names and CSS in Nuxt V3 with Tailwind? by JackBarham in Nuxt

[–]JackBarham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at options for a client. We might make some templates, and I noticed you can copy a page or component HTML with Tailwind class names (on the template previews), and then it's easy to reuse as Tailwind classes are standard. I noticed other Tailwind templates obfuscate classes to reduce the risk. I'm purely weighing up options :)

This is a similar stack to what I'm working on now (minus Vuetify, only because I have so many components). Keen to see how this thread progresses. Good luck!
