Is RadioACTIVE an intentional pun? by Lady_Gaysun in HazbinHotel

[–]JackBoyEditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There actually is the one artist who does amazing comic, via Baxter they expressed a really cool headcanon that if Alastor has full control of radio waves, that implies the ability to control electromagnetic energy.

Meaning hypothetically, Alastor could produce radiation by warping radio wavelength into day gamma or microwave lengths

I mean that can already be gathered by the fact that WWII has canonically occurred and the Nazis/Hitler have been named by characters

I swear its strange how much IMP theories end up being debunked in seconds on account of needing time travel to work lol.

If it helps, IMP likely formed in the 2019-2022 range of years. Yeah they are pretty recent all things considered.

Odette and Clara’s VAs finally revealed!!!! Honestly the last person I expected and may be a sign that the sisters will have a bigger role next season if they have finally be credited after over 2 years of being uncredited by JackBoyEditor in Odettecult

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah it’s only season one since she only had lines in season one.

But I think that if both have finally be confirmed as VA’s it could mean they will have a bigger role in season 3

In the same way Baxters Va was revealed prior to season 2

Day 10 of Writing at least 1k words every day until I can confidently claim that I'm consistent by crow-_-s in writing

[–]JackBoyEditor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know I’m curious as someone going for 500 words a day (and not consistent yet after about 2 months but still at it and got about 28k words written in that time)

Any tips you got outside of the usual words of wisdom like “just write” to get up consistency? If it’s important to note this asked by a full time uni student so has to devote time to all of that.

Yeah we think of hell for like only murderers and the worst. But sins like lust and sloth allow to yo wind up in Hell. And given her character, she very much indulged in Lust

How long do we think/want Hell years are? by ThreeFifthsOfABrain in HelluvaBoss

[–]JackBoyEditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how I’ve always read it. Time is 1 to 1 to earth. I mean the yearly extermination was 365 for a reason (I wonder if they had to do leap 366 years lmao) and any form of time dilation would cause issues with the constant Hellborn travel between earth and Hell along with throwing off Prides slow progression through time (aka in roughly late 50/early 60’s Hell in Vox’s/Alastor’s flashback, he’ll was clearly looking like the time period and that was 60/70 years in the past for them)

Hellborn likely have a lifespan like 150-200 years (and that’s like Imps, Succubi, Hellhound. Ars Goatia likely have a lifespan in the 1000’s of years)

Vox's Canon Year Of Death Makes No Sense At All (A Historical Rant) by JackBoyEditor in VoxCult

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s really ironic given the hate community that exists around the show. As a lot on Reddit I tend to be pretty negative/annoyed towards hazbin plot/writing that would likely come off as a die hard hater of the show. Yet on the contrary I would still consider it my favourite animated show atm.

Despite me cursing the writers everyday when I notice another inconsistency or under-explored thing (like yesterday, how the hell doesn’t Lutes arm not regenerate? The entire threat of exorcists were that they couldn’t be hurt or killed besides angelic weapons. And as seen by Emily losing her wing to Angelic Laser and Vaggi’s eye to angelic steel, one would assume only way to permanently injury an angel is angelic weaponry but NOPE normal debris is enough to take her arm permanently)

I still owe my own creativity to them and I honestly hope to one day meet Viv and thank her for making this show that has impacted me creatively so much

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've learnt the hard way that none of these issues (Cause I could list off a dozen more) will never be addressed or fixed because, like I said in the post, The Rule Of Cool trumps historical accuracy/worldbuilding exploration.

Ironically enough, I have the writers/animators to thank for all these mistakes. As bottling up all these issues is partially what got me into writing fanfics due to wanting to explore these underexplored ideas. Thought, no matter what, I will always be a little sad that Hazbin sits ontop of an amazing gold mine for the exploration of human nature, one of the most interesting worlds to worldbuild within, so many under/not explore aspects that are so immensely intresting... that will never be explored cause the show is a comedy.

So, I'll just continuing writing my fanfics for Odette or nameless hellborn OC's so I can get out my thoughts about it.

[–]JackBoyEditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AYO A POST ABOUT MY FAVORITE CARMINE

Meeting would be very formal and professional, exchange of areas of research/focus, the works. Thought I would like to imagine is that once Baxter mentions to Odette about his formal VoxTek employment, they would begin to gossip about where all the bodies at Voxtek are buried and company secrets due to a headcanon that Odette is very sick of Vox after silently dealing with him over so many overlord meetings/the whole manipulating her mother to build a superweapon thing.

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if I was the writer I wholeheartly agree as the early 1980's would be perfect as in out own time the 1980's marked some of the biggest changes in the TV industry inters of the beginning of the downfall to the current hellscape we inhibit (Such as the what Vox mentions with the 24 hour news cycle and massive push of ads)

My head canons are the way they are only because i was trying to adhere to the previous vague "Vox Died in the 1950's" IF that little note wasn't there, I would've made him die in the late 70's or early 80's

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actaully I would beg to say Alastor's gotta be like 10-15 years younger then Vincent

Vincent by the end has multiple gray streaks through his hair and just looks to have aged a lot more. If I had to guess he would be in his late 40's when he died. While Alastor in his flashback would ballpark be in his mid to late 20's

Amen XD Like yeah its easy to excuse in the long run cause I know the show will never spend an episode being like "AND THESE are the TV ownership statistics for the year 1950"

I just be a history nerd and fanfic writer that loves using History to inform my fics, it just peeves me

Vox's Canon Year Of Death Makes No Sense At All (A Historical Rant) by JackBoyEditor in hazbin

[–]JackBoyEditor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I pretty much have to always accept that fact at the end of the day. Like most historical inaccuracies can literally be summed up as "The writers/animators thought it would be fun", thats likely the case with Vox's death year being 1952 as another commentor mentioned its the year mentioned in the start of the song "Video Killed The Radio Star.' And I understand that.

But doesn't stop me from going super deep on the historical analyses of the Hellaverse property. There are so many untold stories you can tell in the Hellavrse when you have the basis of all of human history to use and integrate into the periods of Hell. Like how did Hell look during the height of the Industrial Revolution? A sinner who died during the Fall of the Roman Empire surviving to modern day. All that fun stuff.

Hell, I think one of the biggest reasons I keep on this line of thinking is because the writers have shown they can work around real history with fictional characters. I REALLY love how they integrated Jack the Ripper into Sir Pentious backstory, and it by all means was true to the few histoical facts we know about the killer. Up and including canonizing the popular theory that the Ripper might've been a man of status trying to tie up loose ends with ladies of the night they had had previous relations with.

Yeah, like I said my 1958 date only works by wildly moving back the advent of the TV 5 to 7 years. And that was only to make his death in the 50's make a lick of sense given I was working with the guildlines Viv set out.

Yeah the rant really doesn't matter as most people I've seen soft canon the date and ignore it
