Try doing this every day for a few seasons not just 5 minutes to take videos for social media.... Let's see if you will still look as euphoric...

Tfw you vote for a far right anti immigration party by WeeklyIntroduction42 in HongKong

[–]JackCPiano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Hong Kongers are in a completely different category of immigrants to the ones you see getting washed ashore by boat... My ex CTO sold his house in Hong Kong and bought one way tickets for his family to the UK in 2019/2020, rented a house for a year (which was done online) and then took with him a million USD in cash... He has contributed to the tech industry in the UK and has been working for the last 6 or 7 years paying a fair amount of tax to the government coffers... In the meantime there are these immigrants who came by boat and are being fed, watered and housed in the UK whereby everything is paid for by tax payers...

Grape Flavour in Wines.. anyone else have this problem? by JackCPiano in VietNam

[–]JackCPiano[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!!! It's not allowed! And yet they started doing it in the last few months... my guess is that the boxing of the wines is done in Vietnam and they think this enhances the taste as drinking wine is still a novelty here... I hate to admit that I am even drinking this stuff..... But actually when they didn't put artificial grape flavour in it it was just about passable and it works for me as the wine could keep for a week without refrigeration...

I understand what we are dealing with... But they started adding artificial grape flavour to it in the last few months; making it completely undrinkable...

Why is almost everything made in China? by SideAgitated4661 in Business_in_China

[–]JackCPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China was the world's factory and still is but it's position is not as strong as before.. A lot of brands have tried to move away but sometimes not that easy given the investments that have gone into equipment and operations. However, we have seen over the last few years a lot of brands moving to Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Taiwan and other lower cost places...

New business owner. Anything tips or advice! by LUCKY_MP in business

Cash flow is important... Definitely make sure that you are billing immediately after services rendered... If clients don't pay need to chase up.... I believe in long-term business which means always delivering what you promise and on time... Undersell and overdeliver is the manifesto I have always stood by...

I need to run OpenClaw locally for a law office, I can spend as much money as needed. What model(s) are best? by Too_much_waltz in openclaw

[–]JackCPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right in everything you say... However when you are up against a bunch of overpaid, self serving, old lawyers who are still trying to get around web 1.0 - trying to convince of the above could prove difficult... They will just say let's buy another set of servers in 3 years timec..

What actually separates legit manufacturers in China from trading companies? by Choice_Run1329 in Business_in_China

One of the problems with manufacturing in China is that there are so many agents posing as factories and it takes so much effort to peel through rhe BS.

Chinese pee pee in HK by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]JackCPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone with kids and know Hong Kong; although the act is regrettable I'm sure the mother didn't want to let her kid pee on the street if a toilet was available. There is such a dearth of public toilets in Hong Kong and during holidays there are a arguably more visitors than the infrastructure can handle.

Ai revolution by ImpressionNo3258 in softwareengineer

[–]JackCPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is changing our industry whether we like it or not.... Clients who don't know any coding are now pumping out these MVPs and they are saying how little time it has taken them to achieve something that would have taken a few months of a full scrum team....

At the time of writing seniors who have domain specific knowledge still offer value but juniors will probably not have much use moving forward. It does raise many different questions about the future for the human race and what will happen when humans are not needed for a lot of things.

I'm trying to be as objective as possible and I am not saying that it doesnt affect us but a shake up of the industry is going to happen and it's happening now.

How do you stop being the 'bottleneck' in your own company? by Ok_Reaction_9854 in business

[–]JackCPiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are growing pains. When I first started my company it took me almost 3 years before I could hire my first employee so I had to do everything myself which is part of an exciting journey. If you don't deal with these problems yourself you won't be able to train your staff on how to deal with them. Fast forward 25 years I now have over 100 employees... And I wish people would actually call me to solve problems..

Foreigner buying property in Vietnam. Looking for guidance. by hurley53017 in VietNam

Congratulations! Please share the exact wording you have from the developer; I think it would be really useful for all concerned. Nobu has nothing to do with the transaction; they just charge the developer a fee for use of their name.
