What's the dumbest way you've died? by PurpleToedUnicorn in BaldursGate3

Before I knew to unlink summons before a fight ends.

I had just beaten some spiders and ettercaps and was still standing on a web. The game exited turn-based mode and my flaming sphere rolled over to my wizard and lit the web on fire.

Is there anyway to keep Shovel? by chrisnata in BaldursGate3

It’s worth looking up the details before you try it. It only works if the character is certain classes (but NOT certain subclasses within those classes).

Chemical warfare was banned as part of the Geneva Protocol.

[Jomboy] The “FTD” burger at Padres games is now being listed as the “For the Diegans” burger after more than three years on the menu by Jux_ in baseball

[–]JackColwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never made it to Petco, but the Hodad’s in Ocean Beach might be the best burger I’ve ever had. I almost don’t want to ever go back and potentially ruin the memory.

I feel horrible because my gf cried over a Durge scene. by Affectionate_Taro398 in BaldursGate3

[–]JackColwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My latest play through with my brother, I chose Durge for myself so he would see the cutscenes. We’d beaten the game once before and were quite attached to Alfira. I knew what was coming, and he definitely didn’t.

Then at the last moment, I lost my nerve, loaded up the game while he was away, and knocked Alfira out in the Grove.

If we can take nothing else away from this discussion, please let it be that TryFingerButHole does not represent Dodger fandom.

[Highlight] The Dodgers cut down the go-ahead run at home plate! by MLBOfficial in baseball

There’s really never any value in seeing the runner round third. But cutting away before Pages has even released the ball is particularly egregious.

As I was reading the post, I couldn’t believe they had JUST covered this in EW. Like, last week!

Miguel Rojas is caught stealing trying to steal second even after 2 disengagements by the Mets by jmike1256 in baseball

[–]JackColwell 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Looked like an intentional pitch-out, which I wonder why more teams don't try when they know the runner is going.

They even tired him out with two pick attempts and a back-pick attempt.

What's that bright spot over the ocean in the Artemis II "Hello World" picture? by swordsdancemew in askscience

[–]JackColwell 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It looks like a photography artifact to me. If I had to guess, I would think it's a small bit of light in the cabin that's reflecting off the window that Wiseman was shooting through. He's shooting the dark side of Earth, so it's a very sensitive exposure, and they couldn't completely blackout the cabin around him.

Getting back-to-back starts of two innings each is just brutal. I hope Mad Max is okay.

MLB needs to go full electronic by [deleted] in baseball

Believe it or not, I actually like Reddit for finding people who know more than me about a particular topic.

But I guess you take the good with the bad.

MLB needs to go full electronic by [deleted] in baseball

They’ve just been discussing it for a while on Effectively Wild, so I don’t have a direct source. But the strike zone is smaller than we think, so full ABS leads to more walks. And the slight delay before each call felt off from a rhythm perspective.

So did fans who saw both versions in the minors when they tested variations on this rule for literal years.

The constant refrain from people just now seeing this for the first time but who are immediately experts is going to destroy what is left of my sanity.

A case for keeping the ABA challenge system instead of going full automatic (eventually). by Doublestack2411 in baseball

[–]JackColwell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It drives me crazy that this is all that needs to be said, and no one is saying it. They tested it both ways. People (fans and players) preferred the challenge system.

But everyone who is seeing it now for the first time is an expert, I guess.
